Hello Mariette, How lucky you were to see this incredible monument in person. It is annoying not to be able to take photographs, but in truth the ones in the book, taken with professional equipment and lighting, are often the best ones. However, sometimes we see a detail that we are interested in personally, perhaps a rose worked into the design, that will not likely be in the book, and then the no-photo rule becomes very irksome! --Jim
Dearest Jim, Yes, we both realize that we were very lucky! Indeed, the book gives not only a historical insight into this monument but is also filled with professional photos. There were no roses as such, worked into the design but all was stunningly done. Hugs, Mariette
Brings back memories of our time there. Funny that you could take video but not pictures. They definitely can't stop people now with mobile camera usage. We took our own photos (except none were allowed inside the mausoleum) and we also got family photos taken by a photographer, some of which are framed and hanging in our living room.
Dearest Tammy, Glad that you too have very fond memories from the Taj Mahal. Times certainly have changed and nowadays everyone has a mobile camera! Hugs, Mariette
Dearest Kim, Oh, this was absolutely worth the trip and we enjoyed it so much. Poor Princess Diana who sat there so lonely two years prior to our visit... the next year Prince Charles separated from her. Indeed an iconic picture that was foretelling a lot what was to come for her. Hugs, Mariette
Dear Mariette - visiting the Taj Mahal is something that those of us who have been fortunate enough to visit will never forget. I was lucky when I visited, photos were permitted, so I have my own very special record of the time I spent there.
Dearest Rosemary, That sure is an unforgettable experience. So glad for having finally digitalized our old videos and saving this clip. You, just like Tammy above in her comment, have been indeed lucky for making your own photos! Hugs, Mariette
It is really a wonderful experience to see UNESCO World Heritage site with your own eyes! The building is incredible and the greens surrounding it is beautiful! You are very lucky to have this experience, Mariette!
Dearest Tamago, Yes, this visit was quite a memorable one and also one to never forget! One only can admire the skills of the craftsmen, back then, for creating such a World Wonder. So happy for having digitalized all our videos for finally being able to look back and enjoy with gratitude. Hugs, Mariette
