Heavenly fragrant corsage gardenias that I did bring inside on May 28.
They are such a dream!

What a stunning flower, your magnolias. I don't see that kind here in the spring, only the pink (light to dark shades), though I don't know what specific magnolia they are.

DeleteNo, these are subtropical flowers and these gardenias would not survive in your region.
You talk about magnolias and that is quite different and those are not fragrant...

These are the prettiest flowers. Back in my hometown, there was a tree with gardenia blossoms on the side of the house, and when I picked the blossoms, they had the best scent. The petals are huge, and I've always loved this flower. So nice to hear that you have gardenias blossoming at your house, Mariette. You can bring them in and enjoy them for a time. : )

DeleteThey are pretty and so fragrant. Never seen an actual gardenia tree, as they usually are a shrub.
Yes, these larger sized corsage gardenias do last longer in a vase. The smaller ones turn yellow in about a day.

Hello Mariette, So often porcelain is made to resemble (sometimes colorful) flowers, but these gardenias seem to imitate the perfection of white porcelain. You are lucky to be able to grow these.

Per quanto riguarda la tua lamentela sul caldo di oggi con 36°C, qui ne abbiamo avuti di più alti e in realtà siamo uguali alla Tunisia in Africa. L'umidità dell'aria è di un piacevole 44%. Qui abbiamo avuto negli anni '90 a volte. Ma amo l'estate.

Wow, you are quite the gardener! You sure turn out some large, healthy-looking and aesthetically-pleasing blooms. Me, not so much, especially not these days.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my dear, I want to clear up a misconception. I admit the names and the looks are quite similar. Lacocoon Dante was our first Maine Coon cat, and he was absolutely gorgeous as you can see. Not to diminish Dani, who can certainly hold her own in that department. Lacocoon Dani was born in the same cattery as Dante only about 15 years apart. Dante is an angel who left us after 14 years on this Earth. Maine Coons are some of the largest domesticated cats. Dante was about 25 lbs. fully grown and Dani, being a female, just a little bit less. Dante never wore dresses, but he did have his own interesting wardrobe.

They are seldom grown here now but they are a beautiful and rewarding shrub. We had one many years ago and it even survived a transplant. The scent is just divine.

DeleteThere are many varieties of Gardenia shrubs but this is the large flowering one. They sure survive being transplanted as these too have come out of our adjacent lot.
