{Kind Hearts Are Gardens}

Kind hearts are gardens,
Kind thoughts are roots,
Kind words are blossoms,
Kind deeds are fruits.
American poet 1807-1882
I am hoping to be able to make some Gardenia photos before they wilt.
We have had such rain that I was not able to do so...
Enjoy your day and the blossoms around you!
Yesterday, on June 12 it was Real Feel 47°C or 116.6°F

Sad to hear that you still cannot enjoy playing golf... We did have rain for about 8 days. Now it is extremely hot all of a sudden. Not good for plants, these gardenias do brown easily as they get scorched.
Wishing you nevertheless a nice day as well.
      Hugs,

    Another wonderful garden quote.
The rain has taken its toll on gardens everywhere. Most of my poppies succumbed to the downpours. It is so sad to see beautiful blooms turned to rags and mush.
More rain today.....may you have sunny days.........*s*

    1. Dearest Suzi,
Beautiful blooms are often so short lived! My Gardenias were starting out when I did the dinner for 10; they were perfectly white without spots. But of course I had no time to photograph them. Now, after about 8 days of rain the suddenly are in scorching heat and the browning damage is visible. Poppies are such tender and fragile beauties. It is sad and knowing it takes an entire year for seeing them back again...
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  13. I love Gardenia and their fragrance is so lovley. I know it's another hopeless to try it again but I just can't stop buying if I know its another disappointment. I had try quite a few times but never have any luck to keep the flower bud stay till they're open... I got to give it one more try... may be one day... when I have a conservatory. Mei

    1. Dearest Katy-Mei,
Oh, Gardenias thrive best in full soil but in a large enough pot with plenty of light they should be happy as well. Ah, a conservatory would be heaven... Especially those lovely British designs I always dreamed about. IF only we would be rich!

Oh aren't they gorgeous! The one to the left is like that; a kind of pinwheel form. We have different varieties in our garden. Some are huge too, like the Gardenia jasminoides 'Aimee Yoshida'.
I took yesterday some photos from my arrangements but all had brown spots; damage from the heavy rain. For my June 3rd dinner I had arranged perfect ones but with no time on hand for taking photos. Next year better! These photos I will show...
      Hugs to you,

What a beautiful poem; and seems like wrote especially for you♡♡♡ Wonderful and beautiful white Gardenia and I also have noticed the blooming difference of the two. We have a popular song called "Gardenia flower, くちなしの花(kuchinashi-no-hana)" sung by famous actor. My father used to like it p;)
I wish you can share some rain here where having a kind of dry rainy season. Unusual high temperature(^^;)

So glad that these gardenias did bring back fond memories of your Father, who liked it! Our rain seems to be over as today we had a lovely day and it was a pleasure for driving all the way to Atlanta; except too much traffic. In the morning it was okay but coming home it was awful. Glad we're back safe and sound!

Flowers are like people in many ways. We have good days and bad days and flowers, since their life-span is really short, have good years and bad years. Ours got browned by the rain this year but the fragrance is still heavenly and they are pretty; even when not perfect!
      Hugs to you,

Full summer has finally arrived here, with hot temperatures and occasional summer thunderstorms, and we're expecting our first heatwave next week. I wish the pleasant temperatures had lasted longer after the cold spell in May, but we take it as it comes, don't we? :)
    Big hugs to you!
