{Our Camellia Sinensis Tea Plant and Japanese Magnolia}

  • On Thursday, March 3 at the end of the day with still some sun light, I took these pictures. It was so pretty for capturing our blooming Camellia Sinensis Tea Plant adjacent to one of the Japanese Magnolias; Magnolia x soulangeana.

  • Since than it has rained a couple of days so the magnolia leaves are for a big part under the trees...
  • Rain is also not making the Camellias look any better!

  • The Camellia Sinensis has not been that pretty in years.

  • In general white Camellias do brown easily after a heavy rain.
Some rain damage visible on the edges...

  • You see how huge such a flower is?
  • I've put my hand there to turn this one towards the camera as it was hanging face down to the ground...

  • This is the other Japanese magnolia at 6:15 PM. Can you believe such lovely weather till the end of the day?
  • Now it looks miserable... of course rain is good for the lawn as it just is starting to re-grow.

  • The good thing is that we view these magnolia trees from our bay window at breakfast time and any time we share a meal.

Japanese Magnolia or Magnolia x soulangeana

  • The Ipheion Star Flower is coming up next...

  • Our pot plants meanwhile remain inside our greenhouse till there is no more danger for frost at night.

  • Pieter is mighty proud of the Almond tree from a cutting, which is blooming inside the greenhouse now. Thinking it is already SPRING...

Enjoy our Spring Gardens by having a tour at Book an Event.

  5. It's SUCH a pleasure wandering through your garden with you-thank you for this lovely virtual garden-tour- and I love your flowering camelia and magnolia- you must have had them for quite some time, judging from the size of the shrub!!
I can see you, like me, have a huge love for gardening and beauty , and love of the soil and everything that grows!!

Thank you so very very much for your tip about how to have the first picture of my blogpost showing as a thumbnail on other blogrolls .
As you may see I have followed your advice straight away and as a result you will see the thumbnail now!!
    Big hug

  6. Liebe Mariette,
    Lucia

  8. Hello Mariette,

I am a bit envy about your wonderful blooming Camellia sinensis and Japanese Magnolia. They are so unbelievable pretty. I love Camellias and the blooming Magnolias are always dreamable.
Pieter can be proud, you both have a green tumb to get a blooming almond from a cutling. I always remember the rose you got from a cutling. I have a cut since last year in a vase and it is still alive but didn't got any root yet.
    Greetings, Johanna

  21. Hi Mariette,
I find it very nice that you will follow me.
Stumbled on your blog and I thought it was sooo nice that I've signed up immediately.
Your Magnolia is bigger than mine, but what a beauty!.
I would like to you a compliment for your use of the Dutch language. That is certainly not translated with Google translator. I use this one, so if what happens in poor English, giving you my apologies.
The French cabinet for books, yes that has long been in my room.
    Kind regards,
    Elly

What a lovely post... The photos are precious. I moved the cursor slowly, enjoying each one of the flowers photographs, as I was getting some relax--very much needed after an exhausting day. Had not anticipated this treat. Thank you, Mariette for being so caring and loving.

Also, thanks for your kind comments on my blog, and for the tip on the blog thumbnail.
