{Our Gazebo with Chair Cushions}

On August 29, the day that it was exactly 30 years ago that we immigrated to the USA, from The Netherlands, we did have a mud-free gazebo with the washed concrete tile path and entrance being cleaned by husband Pieter. We felt confident that we will have no more tropical thunderstorms changing our outlook. So finally an entire lovely, sunny week with sunshine and lower humidity and also some wind. Perfect for drying out!
It was on July 8, that I wrote my post about {WHAT is THIS?} when I had rescued our gazebo's cushions.
Link you find below this post, for those that missed it...
Here they are!
On July 12, they had their 15th birthday but we could not use them yet with all our flash flood warnings and reality.
We forgot to place the table back in the center of the gazebo... I saw this only after I uploaded my photos!
Guess we both were too excited of finally being able to use our gazebo!
Our gazebo got a new aluminum roof from Interlock Roofing as well.
We did place a new fan from Wayfair after the painters had finished their painting job here as well.
They did such a meticulous job with their two coatings of Benjamin Moore paint!
This Westinghouse Lighting 30" Wengue 3 Blade Ceiling Fan, has an incredible 18 degrees blade pitch!
It is in Chrome with Wengue Beech Blades.
Stepping back, towards the house...
The Vintage Woodworks ginger bread in the top part is adding such charm.
So does the Aluminum Slate roof in Aged Copper from Interlock Metal Roofing!
This is with the steps in the back, since we live on a slope. The house is now visible to the left.
There is a little patio at the landing of the steps...
Enjoying our tea together!
With a rice cake and some unsalted mixed nuts...
The container in the back is where we store those cushions and the top table cloth.
There is a round vinyl tablecloth with elastic underneath. Easy to wipe clean with moist wipes from Costco.
So finally you got to see the cushions in our gazebo!
Wearing my precious 925 silver rose ring (lost that in April of 2019...) and you see the vase with rain lilies with perfect rose bud in silver!

Guess we are on the right track finally. Yesterday however Pieter got stuck in the mud again with his John Deer EZtrack... behind our gazebo, adjacent to the pond it is still very muddy. It takes forever for drying out. In the adjacent lot we still cannot go in with the lawn mower...
We pray that we never will have to live through such a summer again!

Thanks for your kind words and yes, this is a lovely oasis in our garden. Convenient to reach with a tray for serving tea or any meal.
Ireland is more in the northern hemisphere and thus your seasons are far shorter. Once the wind comes out, it is no longer pleasant for being out doors. But as always, people in Europe should realize more that we are on the latitude of north Africa and thus our seasons extend a lot more.
      Hugs,

Yeah I like those bird houses too but not yesterday afternoon when I opened up the one with the heart shaped drawer to check if a bird did nest in it again. I got attacked by ugly tiny wasps and they stung my only good eye. That hurt like hell, in the corner of they eye and below the eye... Did dab it with tea tree oil and that made me tear up too. It scares you as I fully depend on this one eye.
But we look forward to making again good use of this gazebo for lots of sunny days.

    1. Dearest Anna,
So glad you enjoyed coming into our gazebo and liking it. It is such a joyful room for having a coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch or supper or whatever! We are joined by our felines and it makes them happy too. Yeah those decorative little white houses were not that sweet yesterday. They made me go to the theatre with some nasty wasp stings in the corner of my 'good' eye and under it. That scared me and it hurt like hell. The one with the heart in I opened up to check for an abandoned birds nest. Instead there were tiny, but very aggressive wasps inside. After treating my eye area with tea tree oil I came back for revenge and sprayed all of them into wasp-heaven. Not so glamorous for getting dressed up with such eye... Today it looks worse though.
We sure will make good use of our gazebo for the rest of the year through November.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
