very, very pretty! thanks, mariette!
ReplyDeleteDearest Theresa,
DeleteIt is a very relaxing and pretty area in our garden!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteSaturday paper them the weeks day. editions A holiday week end I really enjoy in hanging brancher in the pond.
Hugs and love from both of you!
Michiko
Dearest Michiko,
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the Saturday paper and hope your weekend was a nice one!
We did not like the fact that this oak tree with low hanging branches made the waterlilies disappear because of the large shaded area.
Sending you hugs and love back from both of us.
Mariette
A nice place to sit and contemplate.
ReplyDeleteHUgs Kay
Dearest Kay,
DeleteGuess for contemplating or even for composing masterpiece music, like Beethoven once did under a huge Poplar in Hungary at his friends' home, such a huge tree works wonders.
We love it!
Hugs,
Mariette
Bin so froh du bist wieder da! Also gerne.
Mariette
Hello Mariette, Your pond with its shady tree and bench is truly idyllic. When we were little, the water's edge would have drawn us like a magnet!
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteThis semi-evergreen oak tree is a majestic tree over the span of 24 years. We had this pond dug and cleared away other trees to give this tiny one a chance. It has rewarded us manyfold!
As children we always did jump ditches and explored the creek side; that is quite normal I guess.
Kindest regards,
Mariette
Prettig weekend to you too.
ReplyDeleteBeste Marianne,
Liefs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette....Oh happy summer days! I hope it is warming up a bit. We are supposed to have temps in the 50's F. today and tomorrow. We need a few days to finish getting the yard winterized!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day.......*s*
Dearest Suzi,
DeleteIndeed, happy and calm summer days. We did have very mild weather like summer today with almost 78°F. Yesterday we had thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain. It is a mess on the streets, so many pine needles have come down. Pieter just in time got our yard + woodgarden winterized and we're feeling so blessed that we had the big tree cut down while it was dry and solid. Pieter hates it when heavy equipment will ruin the yard..
Hugs and happy new week to you!
Mariette
This is beautiful picture. I love the hanging branch. Looks like it's trying to touch water :-)
ReplyDeleteReflection of trees and bench on pond is beautiful!
It's raining hard today and I see snow on weather forecast on Wednesday. Brrrrr... Stay cozy and warm, Mariette :-)
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteYou are right about the looks of those hanging branches but the negative aspect to that was that they made the waterlilies retract because of its shade. So we have given it a huge haircut and it looks much better. Looking forward to next year's waterlilies!
Oh my, snow for Wednesday in northern Georgia. Here it was like summer today but yesterday was rough with thunderstorms and strong winds with rain!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette,i miss Summer!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cold in my area!
Wonderful picture of the pond!
Great reflection!
Have a lovely week!Hugs!
Dimi...
Dearest Dimi,
DeleteOh my, it must feel like we had last week with that sudden deep frost. Today was like summer again with 24°C but it might change rapidly.
Thank you, we both love the pond area with this huge oak tree and park bench.
Hugs and love to you dear.
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYour happy weekend and photo is taken on Augist 12. I has forgoten about the low hanging branches of the hug OAK TREE! I'm sorry today we has another raining day with allergic in certain times again.
I has not same weather was your cold snow time.
Hugs and love to you!
Michiko
Dearest Michiko,
DeleteYes, this was August 12 in the picture... We too had a miserable Sunday with severe weather, lots of rain and thunderstorms with strong winds.
Today was lovely, very soft and 24°C. Hope your allergies will not stay with you for long.
Hugs and love,
Mariette
DeleteIt is a lovely tree and that helps with creating a nice photo. We have been blessed with a wonderful beginning of the new week; feels like summer!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteHow tranquil and beautiful your pond is and must be a lovely place to go and rest on the park bench.
Hope you have enjoyed your weekend and wishing you a happy new week
hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn,
DeleteThis is the most tranquil spot in the garden and we're lucky for being able to view it also from our gazebo!
We had a good weekend, not for the weather and the memorial service of a friend on Saturday but Monday made good for that!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely picture!
Hope you had a lovely and wonderful weekend!
Wishing you a wonderful new week, take care and stay warm and cozy :O)
Love and hugs,
Claudia
Dearest Claudia,
DeleteThank you and at least we did have a great start of the new week with almost summer-like weather.
Hugs and love to you,

Hugs to you and stay warm and cozy yourself.

Lieve Mariette ,
Liefs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette
ReplyDeleteWhat a sanctuary you have with your garden.
I would enjoy sitting in this spot and reading a book on a late summer afternoon.
The perfect spot to gather one's thoughts and feel at peace with the world!
love
Shane xox
Dearest Shane,
DeleteYou are perfectly right about the use of this spot; it is like a peaceful sanctuary and we enjoy it. Looking forward to our spring for being able to enjoy our home and garden more after all the hard work.
Hugs and love,
Mariette
Such a beautiful pond you have in your garden Mariette. Looks like a romantic place to sit and take it all in!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Pieter a wonderful Thanksgiving! Have a good time!
Madelief x
Dearest Madelief,
DeleteIt is indeed a lovely pond and on one side is the greenhouse and also the gazebo looks out on the pond. Even the balcony from our home and also the veranda are all looking out onto the pond area. We loved it as a focal point and had it dug for that purpose.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
Hugs,
Mariette
ReplyDeleteFijne dag, lieve groet
Beste Willy,
Liefs,
Mariette
Such a lovely and peaceful are for sitting relaxing and reflecting...wishing you both a blessed, Celia M. (High Heeled Life)
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
DeleteThank you and it sure is a peaceful area.
Hugs and blessings to both of you!
Mariette
