A bit late for posting these photos but our special French Magnolia Grandiflora 'Namnetensis Flore Pleno' still is blooming right now!
Husband Pieter took these photos in June.
You have to be lucky for finding blossoms low enough to photograph!
This variety is also fragrant!

Most of the magnolia trees have finished blooming here, but I noticed one on a friend's tree this afternoon. Love the fragrance. Enjoy your blooms.

I put some magnolia photos on FB a few weeks ago. Our variety of Grandiflora magnolia. They come in two types...both with blooms as large as a dinner plate when fully opened. I have not been fortunate enough to have found a fully open one as did your husband here in this blog., in quite some time. And you are right about finding them low enough to photograph. Here, it is people cutting the lower branches . As you know, they branch out all the way to the ground. xx
