Bathroom Renovation Completed by Bassett Home Improvement

Oh the joy when all the dust and noise is over with and you finally can clean your new bathroom!
Loved working with the men from Bassett Home Improvement but it was great to see them depart...
So happy for having it shiny and clean on Wednesday, before Thanksgiving.
A shiny new bathroom... matching our treasured white lacquered Italian vanity cabinet!
Our shower is wider than previous.
We did have to wait 1.5 week on the custom ordered shower door from Dublin Glass and Window Co.
The MAIN reason we redid our bathroom was because of the sliding door from 6 years ago getting STUCK!
 YES, WE GOT TRAPPED INSIDE.
Lowe's is NO LONGER selling this DreamLine Mirage Frameless Sliding Shower Door!
Guess we both were not the only ones that got stuck...
Below post you find link from our previous bathroom renovation.
Direct wire got installed for this shaving/makeup mirror with LED light.
Love the glossy paint on the walls, after they'd removed the wall paper.
We also opted for this very special American Standard 2034.014.020 Champion-4 Right Height One-Piece Elongated Toilet, White (Amazon).
Our contractor said it was the easiest toilet he ever installed!

It is also supposed to have a special 'EverClean surface' and we hope that it will not get water stained under the rim like our previous Toto did.
Our water quality is such as with rust stains... We use a water filter system but still.
Hate things that are not clean-clean.
Our Hotel Cabinet with Cubbies moved now to this side of the bathroom.
We of course kept our Danish Damixa faucet and shower head.
Next to window, with a glimpse of our white lacquered Italian vanity cabinet.
Grab bar got installed this Monday morning...
It is not a huge bathroom but cozy, with a bathroom heater fan above, and practical!
It can serve us for many years to come.

Thanks for your visit and comment!

  2. Hello Mariette, There is nothing like fixing things up exactly the way you want them. In Taiwan we have great water, but the older-style on-demand heaters don't work well and break down all the time. Finally, I got a better quality heater, and can't believe how long I suffered with the old one!

    1. Dearest Jim,
Yes indeed one can suffer because of certain poor quality items that we need for daily life. Not even a luxury but a necessity. In Indonesia we had only a gas boiler and that caused often the experience of suddenly getting doused with ice cold (mountains) water... We take these luxuries for granted while they function perfectly!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

Thank you, to us it is a great Italian/Danish mix with local labor and tiles bought here.
As for the cleaning, smooth lines and nothing on the wall in that shower makes for very swift and easy cleaning.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  10. My heavens, what a fine bathroom renovation. I like the idea of the heat lamp as I would love to have one. The mirror is something my husband would love too. Very nice.

    1. Dearest Betsy,
Thank you and indeed, at the end it all worked out perfectly and it was worth all the dust etc.
The heat lamp idea we got in the 80s while working in Australia and visiting a friend. We had it built into both of our bathrooms when we built this home in 1990 and would not want to do without it again. Lowe's is selling them. 12. It looks great! I too have that makeup mirror. Sometimes my magnified face scares me. I envy the heat lamp...I remember that my grandmother had a small gas heater on the wall of the bathroom...wish they still sold those. Your new header is so festive.

    1. Dearest Janey,
Yeah, at times it makes you laugh when looking in a mirror without glasses on... that is already a difference and this one shows it ALL! But it is oh so practical, also for shaving. The bathroom heater fan from Lowe's is something we could not do without any more. Not so much for summer time but there are more days that you use it than not.
      Sending you hugs,
      Mariette
