Yes, Spring did ARRIVE...
On February 20 I made my rounds to capture the Spring Beauty around our Home.
Pieter had planted these lovely snapdragon plants.
Some of them ended up residing on the steps to our front door...
Some Japanese Magnolia blooms were fully open before we left on our 10-day trip to Florida.
Despite the cold–spell with some frost, they continued to bloom.
Only a few brown ones from frost damage, seen bottom left...
We love our patio with pot plants!
They are quite a show, every spring!
Golden Pansies have been planted by Pieter, inside our Fiberglass Window Boxes.
This shows the bay window area of our kitchen, where we enjoyed breakfast in the sun just before I captured these photos.

Our Camellia Sinensis or Tea Plant
We can just see those from our bay window.
With 'half' of the other Japanese Magnolia tree above...
Once a big tree fell into it and ripped off the other half.
Now with more light, big oak tree limbs that hung overhead being cut off, it might recover even more.

Forgot to capture this planter with violets, residing on the huge oak tree stump.

We too have had quite a roller coaster of weather and those snapdragons had to remain inside for a while, due to frost.

Yesterday I noticed that my daffodils are sprouting nicely. This afternoon when the sun has warmed thing up a bit I will rake the leaves off them.

DeleteWell, the South does make a difference and we too escaped our dreary winter by going for 10 days to Florida. It lifts ones spirit for seeing greens and blooms.

Gosh, it's so beautiful, Mariette. Spring is my favourite season, it's lovely to see new growth, the blooms.
ReplyDeleteWe currently have a winter wonderland outside, so much so that it feels like I should put out my Christmas decorations again. LOL. It's lovely though. I had a wonderful 75 minute walk slogging through the snow, no YouTube workout needed today, and took a slew of pics with the phone. Still, I'd much prefer to be taking pics of flowers in bloom! :-)

I miss the early Springs of my youth and of living in the South for nine years … we have had a relatively mild winter here, trees and bushes have buds which I hope survive any late cold snaps. We have sunshine over 300 days annually which is a mood lifter for sure.

DeleteOh I bet you miss that after having lived in the South.
We still do miss the tropics after having lived and worked for three years in Indonesia. That's why I love to escape winter to a sunnier and greener area!
Things look very nice now, even though we had another dip in temperature, no frost thank goodness.

ReplyDeletedie Frühlingsblüher schieben sich hier aus der Erde, allen voran die Schneeglöckchen und Krokusse. Sooo wunderschön. die Narzissen und mehr folgen, obwohl es friert, die Erde hart ist. Aber die Sonne scheint und lockt sie alle hervor.
Diese Blumenfreuden lenken ein wenig ab vom traurigen Geschehen in der Ukraine, ich bin fassungslos

DeleteJa wir leben ja auch auf Höhe von Tunesien... ist 'etwas' anders als im Norden von Europa...😉
Aber die Sonne ist schon aktiv bei euch und ihr habt ein warmes Haus, etwas was vielen in die Ukraine nicht haben wenn alles hintergelassen ist. Herzzerbrechend ist es.
