{Federal Reserve Bank of New York City}

While participating on our New York City sight seeing bus tour, there was of course no time for having the FREE Museum & Gold Vault Tour...
We still found it very interesting for walking here.

It is quite an impressive building, right on the corner of Liberty and Nassau Street.

NASSAU STREET, Manhattan does mention about its Dutch history, see screenshot below:

Nassau Street was named by 1696 for the House of Orange Nassau in the Netherlands...

Nassau was also an old name for Long Island. Dutch explorers originally called it 't Lange Eylandt, or Long Island.

Yes, Pieter and I both LOVE history and being in New Netherlands for visiting this very part of Manhattan meant a lot.

We also were so blessed with perfect sunny weather!

As always, not enough time for doing what you would love to do on such a short visit!

{Federal Hall National Memorial New York City}

Next visit was almost across from the New York Stock Exchange, to Federal Hall National Memorial in New York City.

Statue of George Washington on the Wall Street steps of the Federal Hall National Memorial, designed by John Quincy Adams Ward (1830-1910).
This historic site on Wall Street is where the first United States Congress met and where George Washington was inaugurated President in 1789.

Above you see a plaque commemorating the Northwest Ordinance of the Ohio Company of Associates from 1787.
Below you see the Inauguration with the George Washington Inaugural Bible, which can be seen inside the building.

It is the Birthplace of American Government

{A Few White Gladiolus}

We were very lucky for having a few white gladiolus in a vase, just before the tropical rain hit our part of Georgia for a full day...

Yes, this photo is taken on the dark and dreary D-DAY when it rained all day...

Guess our Gladiolus want to teach us some history as the purple ones bloomed around Memorial Day!
Towel is from Le Jacquard Français, France.

After such heavy rain, those flowers are knocked down and gone...

There were more but we could not enjoy them!
