Wow; the painters left yesterday around noon after working for about 3 weeks on our exterior! Great quality job they did and you will soon get to see the results. First I need to show you the previous projects. Today I just have a little vase with 3 Fragrant Cloud Roses for you. Not even a great photo, as I took it with my iPhone... Yesterday I did serve candied rose petals (from our garden!) to our 10 dinner guests of the Monday Night Club that we hosted. I had made the evening before baked chocolate hearts and roses and decorated them with marzipan roses and my candied rose petals... A busy day, cleaning and arranging fresh gardenias for the dinner tables. Setting the tables and low and behold I even forgot to take photos. No time actually, as I was cooking and doing it all. My usual help for serving, started her vacation so I did it solo. Feeling satisfied but tired after I got done. One of the ladies, Sarah Jane Smith that came for dinner, did help me serve the main course; very sweet of her.
Hand crocheted doily is done by my sister-in-law Elly.
I just got in a hurry to take this photo before those perfect buds would open up completely...
Today I planned to take more photos inside the home but it is such a dark and HOT day with thunder in the far distance. Wish it would break and change to sunshine again!
LOOK: at 11:45 AM already RealFeel 40°C... It looks like this will not change the coming days.
Let's hope for the best so I can make my photos.

Dearest Claudia,
DeleteThis coral color is indeed very pleasing.
The dinner party went well and cooking for 12 including both of us is no big deal. It's more the gathering of the empty plates and serving the next course... A bit hectic but we managed!
Enjoy your week; we got rain right now...

Besos,

Dearest Anna,
DeleteThanks for sending a refreshing breeze from the Alps!
As a matter of fact, I very much love edible flowers in many ways... They can add color and taste to our food in a very special way.
These fragrant coral roses would also be great for using them as candied rose petals.
Hugs,
Mariette

Beautiful roses ... such a fabulous colour. Hope your weather tames down a little. Here we are wearing sweaters - the temps have dropped. Wishing you a great day..Hugs and blessings, C. (HHL)
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
DeleteSo sorry to read you are back to sweater-weather again. Let's hope your roses will hold up well. Here we have all week rain and thunderstorms. Weird weather with very dark periods during the day... BUT our painters were so lucky for having perfect weather while doing our exterior.
Pieter is not so lucky with finishing his project.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI love your roses, the colour is beautiful.
You are brave to prepare and entertain 10 guests all by yourself.
I'm sure it was a success.
Dubai's weather started to heat up, 42 celsius already..
Hugs,
Angela.
Dearest Angela,
DeleteThe color is very charming and their fragrance no less!
It is nothing for being brave about feeding 10 guest + the 2 of us. It worked out very well and for days I still have food enough left. That is always the bonus afterwards for easy days.
We are also moving into the 35+ and 40+ Celsius months...
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI have been away from the computer for a little while. I am trying to cut back the large azaleas from our foundation. I have seen several snakes and want to get that area cleared.
I love those roses. I envy you for being able to produce such lovely roses. I really like the photo, it has an ethereal look to it. They were, indeed, perfect roses.
Hope to be back to posting pretty soon.
Love to you,
Ginger.
Dearest Ginger,
DeleteThat was something that really needed your attention first! There is always something that needs our attention and precious time...
Our roses are by far not that many as we once used to have; the climate is so harsh for them.
But the ones we got we enjoy and even share with all of you.
Hugs and love to both of you,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette
ReplyDeleteThose roses are just perfect blooming.
The trees in the last post are real works of art.
It sounded like a successful dinner!
Hugs to you
Kajsa
Dearest Kajsa,
DeleteThanks for your compliments about the roses and the trees.
Yes, the dinner was successful and again we ate from the left overs... easy days afterwards.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Candied rose petals! That sounds very nice! It must have been really busy day to have 10guests! How kind of the lady to help you serve main course :-) Your roses are very lovely and the vase is elegant. And perfect on the beautiful doily!
ReplyDeleteDearest Tamago,
DeleteOh, I love edible flowers and I did make candied rose petals and also candied violets. You only can do that from your own garden where you know for sure that no pesticides have been used.
Thanks for your compliments in regard to the roses; vase and doily made by my sister-in-law Elly.
Hugs,
Mariette
