On our patio we also have the exotic tropical plant Ixora and it looked so lovely on July 4th. Due to plenty of late afternoon showers, like in the tropics, it was quite happy!
A bright yellow color with touches of pink...
Far more common is the red variety which you already may know.
But look; only six weeks later but after a dry spell...
Looking all perked up after a generous 'drink' from the green hose in the back...
Without water there will be NO LIFE!
It is still very hot and dry in Georgia/USA...

we are very hot and very dry in texas, too.
ReplyDeleteDearest Theresa,
DeleteLately it is hot and dry here in Georgia as well...
Hugs,
Mariette
Hola Mariette querida ! Me encantan las flores amarillas , linda fotografía , e tenga un óptimo miércoles
ReplyDeleteBesos
Dearest Angélica,
DeleteWe too loved these yellow flowers, so happy looking.
Happy mid week to you as well and sending you hugs,
Mariette
Pretty yellow. Very hot here. With high humidity by afternoon that is really suffocating. We bought some flowering pushes last weekend. I think they are gardenia though very tiny little blooms. The Arabic word that Indian guy told Sam translates to orchid and they are definitely not orchids. HA! Have a wonderful Wednesday. Tammy
ReplyDeleteDearest Tammy,
DeleteThank you and yes, we both also like the yellow variety even more than the red one.
Here we too have very high humidity; it is 100% at the time I write this reply and it's not even 10:00 AM...
Probably you got some jasmine bushes and the guy might have told Sam the truth about these blossoms resembling mini orchids. Look here at these pictures: {White Indian Jasmine the Queen of Flowers}
Hope you are lucky enough to see them bloom!
Hugs,
Mariette
Deaerst Mariette,
ReplyDeletewhat a wondeful flower!
Hot and dry ...............how nice ......long time ago here....we had rain all day long yesterday .....I guess, I tell the clouds to visit you and your garden ;O)
Love and hugs
Claudia
Dearest Claudia,
DeleteIt is a wonderful flower and with the high humitity we have right now, they might be able to pick up some much needed moisture... There should be some rain next week. Let's hope it is coming our way! Please do send your clouds our way!!! The wind is NNE so there is a slim chance...
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, I may have seen some of these flowers around Taipei--I'll have to take a closer look the next time I spot one. Weather patterns seem to get stranger and stranger. We have storms almost every day, yet there is an overall drought because the total downfall is still not enough.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteIn Indonesia we did have the red version all over and I guess you also find them in Taipei.
We sure need rain too, the lawn is starting to look very ugly already. Lack of water is a terrible thing on most crops. Our gardens are only for pleasure and we don't have to make a living from it. Hope you soon get it balanced out.
Kindest regards,
Mariette
It is a lovely flower Mariette.
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets cooler soon for you.
Hugs Kay
Dearest Kay,
DeleteLovely is sure is!
They always say here in Georgia, wait until after Labor Day, which is Monday, so we wait and see. But we sure need that rain!
Hugs,
Mariette
It looks so nice in the sunshine, a nice warm colour. Here the sun is coming back today 21 C!
ReplyDeleteDearest Marianne,
DeleteYellow is always a happy and warm color and especially in the sunshine.
Glad to hear you got agan some sunhine in The Netherlands. Just heard from my Parents over the phone that it is lovely today and that the fields are so wet that farmers can't even harvest...
Wish we had some of that rain for now.
Hugs,
Mariette
Very nice
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteThank you!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette, what a beautiful flower!!Wonderful pictures and great closeups!!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day!Hugs!
Dimi...
Dearest Dimi,
DeleteThank you and we have surely enjoyed this beauty.
Hugs,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
Mariette
Hi Mariette, your flowers are beautiful. I love the cheerful yellow color with a hint of pretty pink!
ReplyDeleteSounds like they need lots of lots of water.
It's got very hot and dry lately. I hope we'll have some rain!
Have a great day xoxo
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteYes those beauties love lots of water for looking pretty.
Indeed it is very hot and dry here in Georgia... They say next week we will get some thunderstorms with rain. Let's hope for the best!
Hugs and enjoy your mid-week.
Mariette
Hello Mariette!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very beautiful flower and in your care, it can only thrive!
I wish we could have part of your heat, it has been such a miserable summer here... :(
Love from France!
Dearest Noushka,
DeleteThank you and we try to keep it looking happy.
Oh, if we all could swap some of the weather conditions we don't like or don't need... We would create paradise!
Hugs from a hot and dry Georgia,
Mariette
Hallo lieve Mariette,
Mariette
You have so many beautiful flowers! It requires a lot of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteWe also saw many plants in California that we had never seen before.
Hugs to you!
Astrid
Dearest Astrid,
DeleteEach country and each region has different flowers. This is a tropical one so we must shelter it in winter time... It would do well inside too!
Seeing different flora and fauna is one of the charms of traveling.
Hugs,
Mariette
Daerest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYour lovely planty of flowers are beautiful was July...It was good happy with your klips is red vasilty....
But after dry sprll after a gererous drink water in the green hose.
We having a nice day with out raining ha ha But by monday another rains coming?
Hugs a lovely to all ways!
Michiko
Dearest Michiko,
DeleteYou ought to send your Australian rain over to us so we don't need to give our plants a drink from the green garden hose!
Glad you had at least a nice day in-between; there is hope.
Hugs and love to you,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteIxora is a beautiful plant. I see that you grow it in a pot; I could probably grow it up here and bring it in for the winter.
We are very dry up here. We are conserving water where we can. My latest is to put basins in the sinks and empty them into buckets for watering. It's a real eye opener as to how much water we use wastefully.
Enjoy these sunny, if dry, summer days.........*s*
Dearest Suzi,
DeleteOh, in Australia I've seen this water conserving first hand and they reuse the rinse water from their washing maching for another washing... Why not? We all can be very wasteful if not paying enough attention to any use of water! Good thing you are doing this.
Hugs,
Mariette
My dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteHere I am again, at long last! Your blog is the first I visit after this long absence... and first of all, I must tell you that I felt so touched when I found your sweet and loving comments on the very few posts I managed to post this month... THANK YOU so much for your friendship, dear Mariette... It is indeed real and loyal friendship, because he have hung in with me even if I have been away for a long time! I really hope to be able to follow your beautiful blog more regularly now... It's been such an eventful year (in a positive way!), and now after my stay in Rhodes and having settled in in the new apartment, I should hopefully have more time. I felt so bad about neglecting all the beautiful blogs I so love reading... So, hopefully, I should be more settled now (but I will spend two weeks in Rhodes in October!)...
I'm looking forward to keeping admiring your amazing garden!!!!
Thank you for your friendship, lots of love and hugs from the Alps
Dearest Anna,
DeleteYou are quite welcome and I always love to visit your beautiful Alps or Rhodes where you spent some wonderful time.
Sending you love and don't you ever worry!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh; BEAUTIFUL Ixora with pretty yellow color and light pink in the center part, Mariette. Haha, I thought a kid of hydrangea. We have had a terrible rainy weather with land slide damages in some parts of Japan. Nature is Not Fair sometimes(^^;)
ReplyDeleteSending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Dearest Miyako,
DeleteThank you, yes this is a very special Ixora in yellow, a happy color.
Oh my, wish we could have some of that rain for our garden. It is so hot here and dry... for weeks.
Sending you best wishes and blessings.
Hugs,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
Mariette
