Dido has always been a rather feisty kitty bandit; hence his name Bandido.
We rescued his Mamita from Acapulco and also his Daddy no doubt was Mexican.
So, on September 2 at 10:00 PM our 5 months old kitty Bandido did bring this into the living room.
At that time I had no clue what it was... a locust, a beetle?
He did not want to bring it outside, though once he brought it downstairs...
We always wonder how they manage to come through two cat–doors, then up the stairs!

Bandido! Katie Isabella would have had a nervous breakdown! You are a strong brave man cat!!! And are you and your fursibs bi-lingual? You understand your mom’s Dutch and Erglish too? Perhaps Spanish?

Yes, they are bi-langual and understand my Limburg dialect. Their cat sitter is from Belgium so she speaks Flemish, which is very close to it. But they hide when the Mexican crew comes to do our yard. Sure, they understand English from our friends and guests over the years 🐱.

I don’t know if my last comment went through or not. Anyway it was fun watching your kitties “play “ with the cicada. They sure are big and loud. Can’t say if I’ve ever seen one. They must hide real good. We have crickets. I’ve not heard if we have any cicada’s near me.

Cicadas live here in the east, for 17 years under the ground and come to the surface only ONCE! At the very bottom of the link under my post you find a most interesting video about them.
So, in the West you will never find any cicadas. Here, they belong to the summer—concert!

Good thing I came back. I wanted to see if the comment I made from the phone last night showed- and it doesn't. I went on a bit about Bandido being bi-lingual. He understands Spanish of course since his parent were Spanish speaking, but I see he has mastered Dutch as well. No surprose there as those who are black panfurs are exceptional in their languahe skills. (I love when I see kitties responding to another language). His fur siblings understand as well of course. They are masters of Language and have atteneded well through their years with you and Pieter.

DeleteYou beat me just by 5 minutes here... Yes, it DID show.
But yes, Bandido must be bilingual—though he never met or heard his Dad as we brought Mamita over when she was just pregnant. Her passport was bilingual as that vet we used in Acapulco for giving her the Rabies shot spoke both.
Bandido only has a white cross on his chest and he's the most soft, silky and shiny of all five. His brother Spooky is all black and a bit taller and heavier. Bandido is svelte like his Mamita was. And he is the fastest and the smartest and also very vocal!
Oh, the way he handled the cicada was quite clear—he made him SIT and LISTEN.
