Guess by now, you all know how much I do love ROSES...
Sadly we no longer have our own roses, but once in a while we enjoy a nosegay.
When doing our usual shopping round in Atlanta at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market and Costco wholesale, I grabbed a dozen of these perfect yellow roses.
When this dozen of yellow roses was showing signs of letting down, I salvaged several of the best and placed them inside this Wedgwood Cream Color on Cream Color compote bowl.
Together with a placemat from Le Jacquard Français they looked stunning!
For best light, I went onto our balcony on the round teak table...
Lovely buds that never fully opened!
Do you love ROSES?
Hello Mariette, Your yellow roses are indeed stunning and a bright note of summery color for this often cold and overcast time of year. You have a knack for arranging them so that they look perfect--I could never do that. I do like roses, and always admire the simpler wild ones which grow everywhere in Ohio--I don't know if they are as abundant in Georgia. I especially love the fruits that belong to the rose family--apples, pears, peaches, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and so forth. I of course love the fruits, but these plants are magically beautiful when in blossom.

Dearest Jim,
DeleteThank you and when picking out a color of roses, I have already in mind where I will put them. Some had wilted from this dozen and I had the idea for cutting them short and still enjoy the remaining ones.
Oh, the blossoms of all that you mention here. Yes we do have wild roses here in Georgia, we even have dug them up at times for planting alongside a fence but they are rather thorny.
The blossoms of fruit trees is heavenly but sadly ever so short...
Hugs,
Mariette
These are really beautiful roses. Lovely colour. I love roses ... have just a few in the garden.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Mariette. Great taste you have.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteThank you. Guess no person can live without roses...
Pieter has finished one of your books (murder) and he complimented you for being such a good writer. He's now reading the other one.
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh ... thank you so much, Mariette. You and Pieter are so kind to me. Thank you.
DeleteGod bless you both always.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteYou are so deserving of it!
Hugs,
Mariette
Yes, I do. I love roses.
ReplyDeleteThose yellow roses are lovely.
Have a wonderful New Year. Mariette.
Dearest Tomoko,
DeleteWho would NOT love roses? They are so regal.
Wishing you and yours a lovely New Year!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh yes, I really Love yellow roses. We have a few rose bushes, which struggle in our tropical climate, but the yellow one blooms from time to time to my joy. Your perfect roses look wonderful in your creamy bowl and with the yellow mat.
ReplyDeleteDearest Patricia,
DeleteYour climate will be hard for roses but at least you enjoy your yellow ones.
That compote bowl was indeed perfect for arranging them in and also with the placemat for underlining their yellow.
Hugs,
Mariette
I was amazed at your photos. Your golden roses are breathtaking. I think beauty stands still beyond time and emotion.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
DeleteIt only shows that in life we never ought to give up on anything.
After a full week in a tall vase, these 'best looking buds' got snipped off and placed inside this bowl.
They happily return your effort with their beauty!
This is what we all need for feeding our soul...
Hugs,
Mariette
Le tue rose gialle sono meravigliose!Sei molto brava a fare le composizioni, hai stile.
ReplyDeleteCara Olga,
DeleteGrazie e sono felice di aver prolungato la vita di alcune delle mie dozzine di rose in questo modo...
Abbracci,
Mariette
I do love roses, Mariette, and we do get them sometimes when we're at Costco. Thanks for sharing these lovely blooms!
ReplyDeleteDearest Martha Jane,
DeleteWho does not love roses? You're so lucky for living near a Costco store... We must travel a good two hours, one way.
But this way, many can enjoy them inside the compote bowl.
Hugs,
Mariette
OOOOOHHH! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteThank you!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh my how gorgeous these are!
ReplyDeleteDearest Betsy,
DeleteThank you and yes, on a sunny day they bring happiness.
Hugs,
Mariette
They're beautiful, a burst of "sunshine."
ReplyDeleteI do love roses, have never tried to grow them, though. I don't have a green enough thumb!
Happy New Year to you and Pieter! 🙂
Dearest Kim,
DeleteThank you and yellow is in psychology of color and emotion: Health in body and mind, love of man and the sun, connection to the God form.
We had once many and gorgeous fragrant ones but the big trees compete with plants and they disappeared...
Happy New Year to you and yours, including Derry boy!
Hugs,
Mariette
Roses are pretty but I prefer carnations
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteWell, like roses being the symbol of love, also carnations are associated with feelings of love and admiration.
Hugs,
Mariette
These yellow roses are perfect.
ReplyDeleteCoisas de Feltro
Dearest Christina,
DeleteThank you and this way we kept them quite a while longer still.
Hugs,
Mariette
