Over the decades there has been none other for being so well able to translate the results of science and research into practical and useful language for the mushroom growers!
So many researchers only loved hearing themselves, and were using too difficult words, that went over the top of the heads of a practical grower.
Our latest book also explains the physics and everything else there is to know, into an understandable and practical way: modern mushroom growing 2020 harvesting available in ANY COUNTRY WORLDWIDE at over 40,000+ booksellers as print on demand.

Wow! What a help to mushroom growers all over the world, Mariette. Good luck with the sales!
ReplyDeleteDearest Martha Jane,
DeleteThank you and indeed it will remain a big help to thousands all over the world.
Hugs,
Mariette
Another wonderful post showcasing the impact both of you have had in the world of growing and harvesting mushrooms ... cheers!
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteThank you very much and Pieter always had the practical implementation in mind; to actually help others make a (better) living.
Same for me, in Germany where I trained hundreds of women/harvesters, they thanked me after my training and told me they earned more, for better quality and with less hours of work and less movements thus less tired... It is very rewarding in the end, after perseverance.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette and Pieter, You two are right about the relationship between research and users. I have helped people apply for National Science grants, and the secret is to come out of the ivory tower, and explain what the research in understandable terms, and what the future or practical benefits will be.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteYou phrase it very well, coming out of the ivory tower. But for some, it is all they have and with that comes a certain arrogance often that distances themselves from the 'ordinary working' people.
Hugs,
Mariette
Your husband has given a lot to growing mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteIndeed he DID, he gave ALL he had in a very special dedicated way!
Hugs,
Mariette
Abbracci,
Mariette
That is great news
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteThank you!
Hugs,
Mariette
The two wheels of research and practice being connected by a strong axle of goodwill and endurance have made people and the world happier.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
DeleteYou phrased it so perfectly and yes, proud to say that my Pieter has been such a strong axle! That's why we both have so many friends all over the world!
Hugs,
Mariette
