Hello Mariette, The deep purple of the flowers goes perfectly with the simple cream color of the bowl. It's too bad the weather is spoiling your fun, but at least your garden is putting out extra dividends.

Haha, we got rained on yesterday when we biked, trusting the forecast of NO rain all afternoon and evening... But it felt warm and we almost dried off before arriving home.
Some garden things turn out good but the weeds are laughing too.
Georgia looks very lush and green and some of the fields are too wet...

What beautiful flowers. Are you good at gardening? I am useless. I try but many plants do not survive or bear good fruits. I ignore the apples, pears and cherry trees. They do give me good fruits each year. So I learnt to ignore trees. I ignore the vines too, but all they give me is vine leaves. No grapes ... yet.

Your hydrangeas are glorious! I don't have any, but I've seen many around, most in the creamy green shades, and they're huge, really flourishing this year.
ReplyDeleteAfter our drought in the spring, we are saturated with water. I had to clean up water in the basement this morning, after last night's deluge. At least I hope it was water. It was under and near one of the litter boxes, but as I can't smell, I couldn't tell if Derry had done his business outside of the box. There WAS pee IN the box, and then so much "water" around, in the middle of the floor, etc. Seemed all too much for one kitty bladder. Anyway, I cleaned up with an enzyme cleaner, scrubbed the box out and moved it to another location, showed Derry where it was. (There are two others in the house.) Fingers crossed!
Anyway, I got sidetracked, of course. Thanks for sharing the wonderful flower pics!

DeleteOurs indeed were at their very best this year. You got invited into the home of those exceptional gardeners that you came across on your walk. Some people really have that ability to create little miracles; provided the soil is good.
Hope the water problem in your basement will not return and got resolved this way. IF rainwater is coming up, that is never good.

The basement remains unfinished, Mariette. I've had water issues there for almost the entire time I've lived here. Poor construction, poorer (almost non-existent) property management (condo townhouse). Eventually it will be someone else's problem...I hope! :-)

Sorry, forgot to mention the flooding of the River Meuse in my province of Limburg.
DeleteIndeed in the very south it is extreme and they are prepared for more flooding in the other areas, Saturday being the worst. My friend in Maastricht has an apartment on the higher area and is okay, one of her sisters lives also higher and one sister has basements flooded due to marlstone rock walls.

DeleteJa, ze stonden heel mooi in die schaal, al zijn het eigenlijk geen snijbloemen maar voor enkele dagen gaat het goed.
Geniet van jullie hortensia op het balkon, ze zijn dankbaar.
Ja, gisteren hard gelachen toen onze iPhone géén regen meldde voor hele dag èn avond. Dus wij op de pedalen en onze langere route van bijna 36 km begonnen. Ging zalig bij 33 graden Celsius, totdat het ineens begon te regenen! Voelde best lekker en ik was zowat droog bij thuiskomst. Pieter niet, die heeft zijn katoenen t-shirt uitgedaan en opgerold in de fietstas, was té zwaar geworden.

Mophead is easy to find in Portugal but this hydrangea with tiny flowers I've never seen yet. They are very beautiful flowers.

Gorgeous colours Mariette. I haven't as yet tried to grow hydrangeas, not sure if our summers are a bit too hot. Might try it this year though, nothing to lose and everything to gain 😉

Your summers are not too hot as you live at a latitude of 31.57 versus we at 32.54.
Even in Indonesia we did have an entire center lane of Hydrangeas on the entrance road to the office.
