Our Garden has plenty of birds and thus also birds nests.
One can come upon little surprises...
There is a US penny next to those tiny eggs for comparison.
Here Pieter held his index finger next to the eggs...
Always a joy to see lots of birds in our garden and we continue to feed them throughout winter.
Oh, wie winzig, liebe Mariette! Von welchem Vogel sind die denn?
ReplyDeleteBrüten die jetzt noch?
Liebe Grüße
Sara
Liebe Sara,
DeleteJa, die Meise hat ja winzig kleine Eier!
Vögel haben hier aufgrund unseres Klimas eine längere Brutzeit.
Liebe Grüße,
Mariette
Bellissima foto!
ReplyDeleteCara Olga,
DeleteGrazie e sono due foto speciali.
Abbracci,
Mariette
Amazing how the bird put a penny in the nest for comparison. They are clever.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteIndeed, a very clever species for doing so! 😉
Hugs,
Mariette

Abrazos,
Mariette
Oh, how small eggs!
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteNaturally as those Chickadee varieties are tiny birds.
Hugs,
Mariette
So very tiny, Mariette! We feed the birds in our yard, too. Love to watch them at the feeders.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteThey are very delicate indeed.
Birds belong to the family and food is being bought for them year round.
Hugs,
Mariette
Goodness, they ARE tiny! I do hope the eggs were viable and that the chicks survived and have thrived! Take care; have a good week. :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteYes, that is our hope too but there are so many predators that steal eggs... A sad thing for having to start all over many times. Our breeding season in the south is extended however.
Hugs,
Mariette
What a lovely sight….
ReplyDeleteDearest Janey,
DeleteOne of nature's sweetest finds!
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, Since it was so easy to pose the cent in the nest, I would worry that squirrels or other animals could get at it as well. It also works the other way round. In front of my mother's building was a rabbit's nest, and as the crows perched above it, the rabbits were frantic with protective anxiety. I hope that all went well with these tiny eggs.
ReplyDeleteDearest Jim,
DeleteThere always is danger lurking at any young life in nature.
We both hope that things worked out well for them.
Hugs,
Mariette
Che bello avere sempre gli uccellini intorno!Un grande abbraccio!Buontutto a te!Rosetta|
ReplyDeleteCara Rosetta,
DeleteGrazie e gli uccellini sono molto il canto della primavera e dell'estate.
Abbracci,
Mariette
Fascinating! I don’t believe I’ve seen bird eggs that small … hope you are having a joyous week! Love that you and Pieter bike.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteThank you, yes those were surprisingly tiny and Pieter captured them well and showed their real size for comparison.
We have not been able to bike since Sunday due to lots of rain...
Too much of wet weather here in Georgia!
Hugs,
Mariette
What an adorable sight! How precious!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Mariette.
Dearest Veronica Lee,
DeleteYes, the eggs are as adorable as the actual birds are!
Hugs,
Mariette
