When Pieter wanted to start working in our wood garden, he discovered that some garden critter (?) was against his clearing activities...

Are those huge mushroom caves still there Mariette?
ReplyDeleteAt least they would be cooler than above ground I guess - I need to find a cave for myself, lol!
Hugs - Mary
Dearest Mary,
DeleteNo doubt those caves are still there but not for mushroom growing.
It sure is cooler than above ground and that makes their growing cycle too slow and not competitive for being profitable.
Would you really want to give up seeing any daylight, just for feeling 'cooler'?
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, Small animals definitely like gnawing on things, but to cut the plug clear off seems an oddity. Luckily, I had no such problems with my indoor wiring schemes. It it a good thing to be handy with such repairs. Not only does it save a little money, but we can get right to the task at hand and not have to make extra trips to the store or to schedule and wait for service people.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteIt will always remain a mystery... but indeed a good thing for being able to handle such repairs yourself!
Hugs,
Mariette
That looks like some major cord gnawing. Can't imagine it was very tasty. ;) 150 miles of cave mushroom farming sounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteDearest Tammy,
DeleteYes, we both were puzzled by that cord gnawing over night...!
Those caves were quite amazing indeed but that time is over, no more mushroom growing in them.
Hugs,
Mariette
I will certainly agree with that! Amazing.
DeleteOh my gosh that was quite a lot of gnawing going on there, I wonder what it was that did the damage? We get the birds nibbling on the washing line etc but not quite as impressive as this Mariette 😊
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
DeleteWe will never know... Life can be full of surprises at times!
Hugs,
Mariette
Someone Was Very Busy - That Cord Felt So Good On Those Back Molars - Was 91 Really That Long Ago - Big Hugs
ReplyDeleteCheers
Dearest Travis,
DeleteVery busy critter or whatever working or chewing on that cord.
Yes, 1991 seems very long ago, and that underground mushroom growing company quit in 2009. We have been there, seen it and still have the t-shirt for remembering the days.
Hugs,
Mariette
What a mess! I wonder how long it took that critter to realize that what it was chewing on wasn't food. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Mariette!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteWho knows, it might have been a critter with teething problems?
Pieter quickly got it restored back to normal and it never happened since.
Hugs,
Mariette
Padre’s comment is so funny ~~~ cannot imagine your puzzlement!
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteYes, his comment is probably very accurate and our puzzlement was great!
One never knows what happens next.
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh my….that is quite the mystery…although I feel sure your hubby had no trouble fixing it…
ReplyDeleteDearest Janey,
DeleteThe mystery remains unresolved but yes, it got quickly repaired!
Hugs,
Mariette
How strange, good he could repair it
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteIndeed, one wonders... there was no indication left as who did this?
Pieter always is swift in solving any problem.
Hugs,
Mariette
Very odd why some creatures gnaw on such things. Do they taste good, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteDon't think they tasted good...😜
Hugs,
Mariette
It has been a long time since a chewed cord has been in my experience, thank goodness. I am not a person who repairs and Katie refuses her services.
ReplyDeleteDearest Katie Isabella,
DeleteIt is in fact a nasty experience and you're left wandering 'who' did it?!
Sure, Katie will not help you out with that.
Hugs,
Mariette
