By mid April our Blue Wisterias were filling the air with their sweet fragrance and they have climbed up the trees till the very top.
Don't you love those trusses of beautiful and highly fragrant flowers?
Cascading down a tree, you can see the water of the creek to the right and the road in the center...
Again the creek is visible to the right and also the road.
Another tree to the left is being filled with this rather invasive climber.
This is our bridge across the creek; one of 3.
The balusters are from Vintage Woodworks, Texas
Do you have any wisteria climbers?

ReplyDeleteDear Mariette, I so love that little bridge of yours... And the flowers of course - like a flowery waterfall coming down. What beauty! Hugs:-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely vine and beautiful color. It looks very happy growing in your woodlands, Mariette! I have not had luck with this, as deer like to eat it, but I am enjoying yours. Hope your weekend is sunny! xo Karen

ReplyDeleteDimi...
Hello Mariette, I have always liked wisteria. I remember one vine in New Haven that was in the yard of a Victorian house in New Haven. It was so large that it formed an enchanting bower, and must have been planted in the Nineteenth century.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, on April 29th, Sotheby's will be selling the estate of the famous Dutch harpsichordist Gustav Leonhardt. There is a great deal of old Dutch silver and other antiques, and I enjoyed a look through the catalogue:

Dearest Jim,
DeleteFinally I had the time to view, the now completed Sotheby's auction. Due to a change of server and email address change, I'd used up all my broadband for the billing period and could not upload these lovely images.
We're not at Hyatt Place in Orlando, on my husband's birthday (already past...) and I had the joy of watching all these incredible pieces. Gustav Leonhardt had acquired quite some lovely pieces of art and amazing what some of the old maps and books yielded to. Thanks for this link.
Always a pleasure learning something from you! We try to enjoy a much needed vacation but the weather is not very stable as there is rain expected with thunderstorms every day. We will see and there are many ways to enjoy ourselves. Via Sarasota to Miami and back north via Lakeland. Weather permitting we would love to visit the Bok Tower again.
Kindest regards,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
ReplyDeleteich habe diese Kaskaden noch nie hier gesehen. Ich werde jetzt
aber mal aufpassen. Sie sehen herrlich aus.
Ein schönes Wochenende wünscht dir
Irmi
Hi Mariette, your wisteria is very beautiful and they are so high up! When I was back in Japan, there was wisteria in the garden and I loved their sweet scent! I enjoyed wisteria at Miyako's blog, too :-)
ReplyDeleteYour bridge looks very lovely in green landscape! Have a great weekend xoxo
Lieve Mariette,
Beautiful!! ...and I can imagine the fragrance ...loving the header image ... your home looks great. Wishing you a blessed week-end, Hugs, C. (HHL)

Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYour Wisteria is so pretty and makes such a show.
I know what you mean by invasive - we have had to cut out one we had growing on a little trellis near the front door - it completely ruined the wood.
Happy Sunday
hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYour blve wisterias were sweet fnagrance were climbed up the trees till the top.
The water at the creek in the road in the center is visible to the road.

ReplyDeleteGroeten Janny

Hello dear Mariette
ReplyDeleteOh your blue Wisteria is out of this world!
I had a mauve one at the old house and it grew all around the front verandah - that perfume was such a joy especially in the evening!
Enjoy it while it lasts and pick it to bring that wonderful fragrance into your house!
love
Shane
Oh they are so pretty. We do have one but it hasn't flowered yet. Maybe next year, hopefully
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Getting hotter here and harder to keep the dust off all my plants. Even when I used a watering can to sprinkle the entire plant, the dust still doesn't wash off. Rather blah weather the past couple of days. Sure do love that pretty green and the little bridge. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteYour back terrace is stunning, Mariette. I'd love to come over and have some tea with you!
ReplyDeleteBlogspot erased my "following" list of blogs, so I had to recreate everything. I've missed so much, but I'm slowly catching up. Love your wisteria. I was thinking about planting some on our property, and now you've inspired me to get to work. Have a great weekend! xo
I have always loved wisterias, but never planted one in our garden as I had heard of how invasive it is!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely on your tree!!! Lovelier though is your little bridge over the creek!
Many hugs, dear Mariette!!!
So beautiful, dear Mariette!!! I love wisterias, they were blooming so beautifully here too throughout April!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's a different variety though, because they don't climb that high here... or maybe they are kept lower due to the different climate.
Hugs!
