Happy Saint Valentine's Day!

This is a photo, taken on Friday, February 14, 2014 on Saint Valentine's Day when we were in The Netherlands and visiting Mom during her long hours of Dialysis.

We did visit her 5 times during dialysis, one afternoon we missed — as we were visiting a 1st cousin—but that was when Dad was with her.

Mom has been a great role model all her life and I pray that I too will remain in such high spirits till the end of my CKD.

Oh, Mom so enjoyed our visits...

{Mom's 6th Dialysis Anniversary}

March 18, was the 6th Anniversary of Mom's Kidney Dialysis!

We are so grateful for still having her with us. This is a photo, taken on Friday, February 14, on Saint Valentine's Day when we were in The Netherlands and visiting Mom during her long hours of Dialysis.

We did visit her 5 times, one afternoon we missed as I was visiting a cousin but that was when Dad was with her.

Mom has been a great role model all her life and I pray that I too will reach her blessed age of 90 and not get problems sooner with my own kidneys.

Let's try to keep my chronic kidney disease in stage II for a long time to come!

Well, in 2017 I moved from stage II to stage III...

As of August 2019, I moved into stage IV...

{HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY | ALWAYS}

Wishing all of you, worldwide, a HAPPY SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY | ALWAYS.
YES, you read that correct as in my opinion it should be always 'Saint Valentine's Day'.
Not the commercialized way however, but in the purest sense of the word.
No one did write about this better than dear friend Celia from the blog High Heeled Life.
It is far more about little pleasures and little gifts that we find for one another; year round.

{We went to TOPS IN BLUE - 'Rhythm Nation'}

Wow, we did end Saint Valentine's Day in a very special way. A while ago our local Chamber of Commerce did mail an invitation to all its members for joining TOPS IN BLUE 'Rhythm Nation', the Air Force's Premier Entertainment Showcase. Free to the public in the next town of Warner Robins, at the Civic Center. That's also where the Air Force Base and an Air Force Museum is located. We have taken many a visitor from Europe and Asia over there.

Has any of you ever seen this spectacular show from TIB? The performers sing and dance all together for one year and that 's it. They have performed this year in 20 countries and 40 states and we feel blessed for having been in one of the states where they came.

It certainly was worth the one hour drive!

On the way home it drizzled but it is again very mild here.

Our frost period is over for now.

{Valentine - Toi & Moi}

When working as international mushroom consultants, during one of our trips, we did find at Schiphol airport in The Netherlands a cute ring with Toi & Moi (French for You & Me). Perfect as a forever Saint Valentine. Yellow gold with a white gold heart in which a tiny diamond is set. They had to size down the ring, to fit my ring finger and by doing so I almost missed my plane. The jewelry store had send the down sized ring to the wrong terminal so I had to sprint back in order to retrieve it. My husband Pieter did wait for me at the gate... they kept the door open for me. Wow, that was JIT; Just In Time! But I've cherished this cute ring forever since.

{LOVE for Valentine's Day 2012}

For Saint Valentine's Day 2012, I did mail out a few selected special 100% cotton cards. Do you know the feel of 100% cotton paper for writing on with your fountain pen? My dear friend Celia M. from High Heeled Life & Resilientista understands that also, as she too is promoting the art of letter writing in her blog posts. Therefore it was more than natural that she would receive one of my special cards as you can see here at: February Tea Trolley. One other was sent to a dear friend who lost her LOVE and the last one to my brother Harry and his wife. Timely, mailed out on January 11, so he had it before his tragic accident. He sure needs all the LOVE and angels available for his long and speedy recovery.
