{My Silk Quilted Vest Creation and YOUR Opinion Requested...}

Need your help and input here... This silk quilted fabric I once found at Britex Fabrics in San Francisco at the time when we frequently went to the west coast for consulting work. From a Burda pattern I did create this vest with one-piece single welted pockets. I am wearing this vest on my Escada pants with an Escada silk blouse. That's exactly the question I want to ask you... How do you like the blouse better; with bow or with a rose? Look below for the different looks and tell me what your opinion is!

• I used a Burda pattern and did a lot of top-stitching with Japanese silk thread, from Britex Notions.
• Colors match very well and it is also completely lined in silk.

• Using a French barrette clip, I created my own hair bow...

• This was taken on Sunday, May 6 with my hair down and without the bow.
• Have a look further and tell me what you like most.

{Our Royal Bonica Rose}

Proudly I want to show you our one and only survivor of the Royal Bonica roses that we used to have several of. It was quite a show when Pieter offered me the first fragile blossom. One of our favorite pinks. Not fragrant but very pretty as you will see from these photos below. Too bad most died last year from the heat...

This Royal Bonica Rose got a royal treatment...

Inside a sterling silver Repoussé Rose vase.

On the windowsill in our living room. Placing a cereal bowl from Gien Rose upside down to elevate the silver vase with the Royal Bonica.

Even the leaves are pretty on this Royal Bonica Rose.

She might not be back to full restored health yet but she will be stronger and fuller we hope.

This is  from several years back when we used to have a vase full of Royal Bonica. 

Displayed here on our kitchen table in a crystal Baccarat pitcher. 

We certainly have to find some more Royal Bonica rose bushes so we once again can fill a vase with these beauties...

{Our TURTLE KINDERGARTEN}

These fun photos, taken in mid March by my husband Pieter, show you our TURTLE KINDERGARTEN in the pond! Are they not precious? The way they  all line up on a piece of wood that is left in there where once was the fountain on an island. It got too often clogged up and we had to row to it in a boat for cleaning it up. 

Here are at least four KINDERGARTEN TURTLES and some bigger ones with a larger teenager.

But as soon as you show up, they dive into the pond...

Taking a photo was so tricky!

In the pond are the new leaves of the waterlilies as well as old leaves and catkins from the huge semi evergreen oak tree.

Can you see them? To the right of that tall tree's shade in the water...
