Again I did find you 6 antique Christofle knife rests in the Griffes Antiques - Antique Claws pattern as listed in the late 19th century Christofle Catalog. Catalog page will follow below photos. This rare set was available at my Zen Cart powered on line boutique: Mariette's Back to Basics. A very elegant way for protecting your fine table linens from getting soiled. These French Christofle knife rests will for sure be an asset to a fine table setting for that special event. The hall mark bears the antique C C for the late 19th century Charles Christofle.

We are lucky for having gardenias blooming right now. A nice bonus after such a long hot and dry summer.

Flatware is Gero Zilmeta Menuet 528.

Hand embroidered tablecloth in cross stitch roses is done by me, for my trousseau on heavy rayon damask from 3Suisse France.

Exact same hall marks on my Christofle sugar sifter spoon from 1862. It was a lot easier to capture a photo off this flat handle.

{Our Hibiscus syriacus 'Diana' - Rose-of-Sharon 'Diana'}

Here are photos from May 31, June 2, June 4 and June 10 that got misplaced and just a couple of days ago found again. So I like to share this beauty with you. Hibiscus syriacus 'Diana' - Rose-of-Sharon 'Diana' is a pure white, single hibiscus that is very strong. Before the hot weather it was putting on quite a show. We also have grown some young plants from cuttings in a pot for next year. The reason that those early June photos show beautiful flowers, is that it was not yet scorching hot weather! At the moment it is pleasant again, with even cooler mornings and evenings. Hibiscus are frequently being visited by the hummingbirds, to snack on the pollen.

This is close to the road on the border with our neighbors near our white vinly fence.

Each day another bud will open up...

{Early 1900s Antique French Tablecloth in Crocheted Roses}

For a very elegant table setting you could use this antique French tablecloth from the early 1900s. It is painstakingly hand crocheted in a rose pattern from a high quality all cotton thread. Done in a very nice champagne color, pictures are made a bit lighter. This cloth will work fine on any dark wooden table or with a solid red or green tablecloth underneath for creating a completely different look.
