  2. Hello Mariette and Pieter, There are many azaleas in Taiwan, but none as luxuriant or colorful as yours. With your other garden plants and features, you two have created a true bit of paradise. Your cherry tree with the grass and pond beside it, and the woods behind it, is breathtaking. In addition to a green thumb, it took superior photography skills for Pieter to capture your garden in all its glory.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Yes, Pieter indeed let the excellent photographer that he always has been, shine through. It was a joy for me to watch those images on my MacBook.
Only once after that I've made, together with Pieter, the rounds through our entire estate. My walking is not stable but I managed!
      Hugs,

  3. Such a wonderful display around your gardens. Thank Pieter for his lovely photos. I just wish azaleas would last longer, don’t you? We have the same Spanish bluebells - mine were lovely this year despite the deer munching the leaf tips before the blooms arrived - thankfully they don’t munch the flowers!!💙💙💙
Love and hugs to you both. Enjoy these days before humidity and mosquitoes arrive!

It was a dreamy spring display—that's for sure.
So glad Pieter captured this splendor and you are right, blooms ought to last longer but we got heavy rain and that makes them look bad soon.
      Hugs,
      Pieter & Mariette

  5. Your azaleas are stunning. How lovely of Pieter to capture them for you. Our Spanish bluebells are blooming now, too. They are so pretty even if they are not a native species here.

  12. How amazing to see so much color in just your property, Mariette. The azaleas here are in full bloom and how your white spirea reminds me of the one my mother had when I was growing up. So full of tiny white blossoms. We had quite the cold this past Thursday of 28 degrees, but it was 80 on Sunday and Monday, rain today and they say 84 on Thursday! I am glad Pieter took so many photos for you and you shared them. Enjoy the scenery even from the window and be safe. Lynn and Precious XX

to be able to look out and see mother nature like this is a blessing ( though she can

Thank you for the lovely photos of all your flowering plants and trees. And thanks to Pieter for taking them.
Your photos are making me a bit impatient for what will be coming here in the north. We had and are still having wonderful daffodils. Oregano and thyme are coming along to say nothing of violets, vinca and of course chive. Soon it will be time to make chive vinegar.
