{BIKING}

Since I've finished scanning all our photo albums, I've joined Pieter for a spin on our Schwinn Bikes.
In the summer without a helmet... Oh, we hate that thing on our head when the weather is above 30°C (86°F).
I'm very happy that Pieter managed to attach my late Dachshund Mauzie's basket on this bike. Great for keeping a rain coat or whatever.
We love to take some quiet roads and less hilly but that is nearly impossible in our area!
We pauze for a drink of water... much needed!
No matter what you wear, it is hot!
In May we still did wear our helmet.
We will have to wait a couple of weeks before we have again somewhat cooler weather.
The problem with wearing a helmet, you can not put your hair in a bun, it will not fit inside the helmet!

But we both love to bike; that's a good thing.

Are you biking?

  5. It's lovely that you cycle, good to keep fit.
In Australia it's compulsory to wear bike helmets whatever the weather! Awful in summer!!

  7. Good Afternoon Mariette, I used to love cycling, although I haven't done it for a few years now. The roads are so busy, and car drivers are not always the most patient people when it comes to cyclists. I envy your clear roads, because cycling is such good exercise. My daughter has just moved to Chicago where they have cycling lanes, so she has bought herself a bicycle to get to know the city. Interestingly, it is a bike imported from Holland. She said it is really sturdy and wonderful to ride.
Now you both have me thinking, maybe I should buy a bicycle and join the club.
    Best wishes to you.
    Daphne

  8. Oh I know, it's for safety, but still, wearing helmet in hot summer is such a pain...! When I was in elementary school, we had to wear helmet between home and school (we walked to/from school). I felt like steam was coming out from my head :-)
It's great you keep so active. You look wonderful in your sporty outfit, Mariette. It's getting cooler so biking must be more pleasant next time :-)

  9. You wouldn't be proper Dutch if you didn't love your bike. You look great, lovely outfits and nice bike. Wearing a helmet is an issue for Dutch people!

Hier würdest Du in Nullkommanix versengen.

    Julia
