{What Type of Feet do YOU have?}

Have you ever looked at the shape of your feet?
There are different Foot Types and I found out that I have Egyptian Type Feet.
Voilà -- My Egyptian Type Feet!
Yep, that's ME: Egyptian Foot - The Egyptian Foot tends to be a narrow foot. It has a longer big toe and the rest of the toes taper down from longest to shortest. It is the most functional of all the foot structures.
However because of the long big toe, you must be careful in your choice of shoes.
Ha, being careful with choice of shoes?
Even more careful with choice of panty hose.
That's one reason I wear Wolford hosiery as they last and last.
All other brands I can trash after doing some walking or God forbid; dancing...
Which Foot Type Are You... Egyptian Roman Greek...
Tell me in the comment what yours are... I am anxious to know your DNA.
Egyptian Type Feet with shoe size 8... Or European size 38.
Guess if my big toe would not be that long I had a size 7 or 37.
This photo is taken at the Camino Real, hotel in México City.
This is how consultants relax during the weekends.
The above was my all time favorite bathing suit with wrapped skirt from La Perla, Italy.
I was so proud for finding it at the Aventura Mall, Aventura FL (near Miami).
Sadly it vanished from the Camino Real Mexico City hotel...
The above picture is from the Dutch magazine Nouveau where I found it.
Looking down on my toes from my chaise at the Hyatt House Miami Airport while at the pool last month...
On our balcony...
No change; they definitely are Egyptian!
Elite Feet Tapered toes or Egyptian feet | link to Urban Dictionary
Female feet where the big toe is the longest toe. The most attractive type of feet. (Hello, how many pair of panty hose they pierced?!) They are fairly uncommon, but that's one of the reasons why they are so great. Also sometimes called tapered toes or Egyptian type feet.
Putting my best foot forward still does not change it...
Big toe is LONGER!
See my left foot below; it's very obvious.
Mummy's False Toes Helped Ancient People Walk Like an Egyptian (click link for reading full and very interesting story...)
I start feeling very ANCIENT myself...
Maybe, just maybe—this is why I LOVE these toe loop sandals?
What is your favorite sandal?
Before I start feeling like an endangered species, I want to compare my toes with others...
By the way, Perfect Ten Salon & Spa did a great job on the pedicure!
But are my toes also perfect ten?!
One of my favorite toe loop sandals from Indonesia... WISH I had bought several pairs of these!
Do you ever regret you didn't purchase more of something that proves very comfy?
Here we stand: My husband Pieter as a true Roman (?) and I as an Egyptian...
Pieter's right foot even looks like GREEK, with the 2nd toe longer than the big toe. Not so his left foot.
Long second toe
Indicates leadership qualities. Rulers from ancient Egyptian and Hawaiian royal dynasties all had long second toes. You need to be in charge.
That is TRUE for my Pieter!
For sure, husband Pieter has not a narrow foot...
He stands on this earth very firmly!
Had to add this as it already did confuse me with Irmi's small sized German feet in a size 4.5 but that is 37.5 European or a 7 in the US. Got confused once again with all these differences...
Guess this is an interesting subject with 26,445 views.

{Our Cerdomus Italian GREEN Tiles}

Our balcony needed to be renovated. In the past we had tiles put onto it but they were not very well laid. Water had gotten underneath them and after frost, the grout had cracked and even caused a moist ceiling in the storage room beneath. So husband Pieter went ahead and took them all off, using a crow bar, he could lift big segments of them so that did indicate they were 'loose'... This time we had selected Cerdomus Italian GREEN Tiles. Of course we do have a special spot in our hearts for Italy, the country where we once lived and worked...
This photo has been taken on April 18, the day before we went on vacation to Curaçao.
Husband Pieter had hauled these CERDOMUS ceramiche tiles home inside our Toyota RAV4, that by the way, just turned 16 on July 9. Still a loyal work horse.
These Italian tiles are 30 x 30 cm
Cerdomus Green Tile; Durango Ambra...
You can read about their Environmental specifications by scrolling down on that page.
They do use 40% recycled material, which is great for the environment!
Europe is far more strict on Environmental issues than other parts of the world and we ought to become more conscious no matter where we live. Recycling; Repurposing; Upcycling in order to keep the amount of trash produced at a minimum! All of us have to work on making our Carbon Footprint as small as possible.
This is just a screen shot from their Durango Ambra tile pdf, featuring special irregular edges.
These Porcelain Stoneware Tiles have been baked at high temperatures reaching 1220°C

We also selected these tiles because they did go perfect together with our GREEN aluminum slate Interlock® roof in Aged Copper
The tiles are already laid by husband Pieter and we are just waiting for the Polyurethane baluster rails to arrive from Vintage Woodworks, Texas... The PVC corner posts from Vintage Woodworks are already placed. By the end of this month the balcony will be completed I hope!

{Bye-Bye Confederate Jasmine...}

After decades of having our Confederate Jasmine climb up to the balcony and forming a canopy around our bedroom's French doors; husband Pieter took it down. It got very bare in spots and no longer was pretty. So I like to show you the last blossoms of this year and say Bye-Bye Confederate Jasmine.
Beautiful in April, for the very last time...
With our bi-fold shutters inside, we don't actually need this shade canopy as much as in years past. You can read below about {Going Green for our Bedroom} in a previous post, about Pieter's clever Masonite bi-fold doors, that he transformed into shutters for a fraction of the cost of ready made ones.
On the left of the Italian cypress, you still can see the Confederate Jasmine where it did climb up on a rack.
The one on the other side of the balcony had died several years ago so we only had half of it...
You also see to the right our 'Quercus Virginiana Grand View Gold' or Golden Live Oak.
Bye-Bye Confederate Jasmine...
GONE already, this morning. The huge fig tree to the right is also cut off partly and that one needs to go.
For being able to have the house pressure washed again and painted, this is also needed.
Do you take down things like that too after decades?
It always gives us a sentimental feeling...
Sorry for the birds that used to nest there and sleep at night but we do have enough trees for providing nesting and sleeping spots.

{Our Balcony}

First I like to thank all of you that helped identifying our mystery plant. Check my previous post about the outcome...

Our balcony is accessible from the master bedroom and is on the South West side of our home. It is nice for having dinner alfresco, having tea or reading under the umbrella... Lots of uses! Besides, it provides a perfect view over the pond, and into our garden and adjacent wood garden.
Photos are not excellent as they had to be taken through the window of our living room...
This is in April with the teak Barlow Tyrie Capri Lounger and teak table out. Chairs are folded and ready for use.
The Confederate Jasmine, about to bloom...
This is in May, the blossoms of the Confederate jasmine are falling off already...
We purchased a new Suncast Resin Deluxe Deck Box with Seat; shown here.
Great for storing the teak chaise lounge cushion!
Here the view is almost obstructed by the enormous fig tree...
This photo is taken on July 25 and it is way too hot for being out on the balcony!
You cannot bear to walk bare foot on the tiles!
This is the temperature in the shade at 15:45 o'clock on July 25.
The 'Roasting' temperature for the balcony would have been way above 43°C (109.4°F) earlier in the afternoon.
The above is from 16:12 o'clock...
Do you have a balcony as well?
Tell me if you do much reading or lounging on it right now.

{Visiting Ria from IT'S ME}

On August 31 we landed in Amsterdam at 5:25 AM after a 7½ hour flight from Atlanta. Ria from the lovely blog IT'S ME, did order something from Mariette's Back to Basics Boutique, she was very happy to get her goods hand delivered. So off we went after picking up our luggage from the carousel and installing our Magellan GPS with the Europe map in our BB&L rental car. That is always a luxury to have a car waiting for you at the curb, just across from the departure hall. We only need to get up the escalators to exit from the higher level. We drove along the romantic Vecht river and passed Nyenrode Business University on our way to Maarssen where Ria and Rein have their Bonhof Bloemen store. Her mother-in-law made us some coffee while Ria got on her way to the store. She arrived with a tote full of lovely gifts for us. Only now I unpacked them, as I intended to show them on my blog. Found some fragrant gardenias from our garden, to put in a French Baccarat vase. Next I put it all in the sunshine on the balcony after we had our afternoon tea...
All spread out on the teak table of our balcony...
Some cards from Bonhof bloemen as well as a Jeanne d'Arc Living Luxe Lifestyle magazine.
Voor Jou! -  For You!
Love the way her gifts are wrapped with their own signature Bon Nature band around it.
You ought to visit their web site. Just click on the highlighted words above.
LOVE the twine with the snippets of ribbon; it adds such a special touch!
Ria had used it also on the tote that held the gifts.
Very pure and natural looking...
That will be a treat with our morning coffee when the mail arrives. We always sit together and sip a cup. Ria is selling all those special gifts along with fresh flowers and plants!
Once I've caught up again, this will make a good read...
Sweet note with heart...
Thanks a lot Ria and Rein!
Cute bird house came out of the yellow parcel!
Romantic card with key charm on a ribbon, that she's selling also.
Touched by Love
Again a romantic card with a charm on a ribbon.
Friends are flowers that never fade...
Thanks again Ria and Rein and I am glad that we went the extra mile for you!
Despite of the heat and drought we got some fragrant Gardenias in a French Baccarat vase!
We lost a lot of trees, shrubs and plants but I'm grateful for these lovely flowers!
May the rain soon come to the south of the USA and relieve the wild fires in Texas.
