Sweet orchids in heart shaped cachepots for Saint Valentine's Day, but never a moment with enough light to capture them...
Photo taken on February 21, when we finally had LIGHT... After way too many dreary, rainy days!
Yay!!!
Sunshine makes all the difference in the world!
Are you having bright days?
Beautiful orchids. The promise of Spring.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteOrchids are above all a tropical plant and available to all as a house plant...
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful flowers! You keep orchids in excellent condition during cold days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your photos of wintersweet. Their petals are sharp like a star. I saw such ones for the first time. Happy new week to you.
Dearest RTC,
DeleteSure, keeping them indoors during cold days as they remain a tropical plant.
The Wintersweet flowers were spectacular and we regret that we lost that shrub.
Glad you enjoyed viewing our Chimonanthus praecox (Calycanthus p.) (C. fragrans) and so did I for your Chimonanthus praecox or Japanese allspice photos!
Hugs,
Mariette
The orchids are lovely. 💚
ReplyDeleteWe've had a lot of grey days this winter, and the sunny ones have been mostly bitterly cold. But we're having rain later today and tonight, so that will wash some of the snow and ice away. The week ahead looks good, with temperatures on or around freezing. 👍
Take care and enjoy the sunshine and warmth.
Dearest Kim,
DeleteThose dark dreary days are so hard as they make reading and everything else so tough. Tomorrow we will have again rain and for three days... For sunny days and bitterly cold, at least if that means dry cold as it helps for your health.
We sure enjoy the sunshine, we biked yesterday in 27°C.
Hugs,
Mariette
Gorgeous orchids, Mariette! Yes, I love the sunshine, especially in the spring.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteThank you and after the dreary winter the sunshine is oh so welcome!
Hugs,
Mariette
I love white orchids, well ALL orchids actually but have never had luck growing them - not enough bright light I guess. . . . . and no wide windowsills as you have!
ReplyDeleteToday I have new tulips here in front of me on the dining room table - bought two bunches yesterday at LIDL - they look bright and clean and bring me joy on a very dreary, foggy morning.
Enjoy your Sunday Mariette - a quiet one for us as most have been for a long, long time!
Mary -
Dearest Mary,
DeleteOh, we fell in love with orchids when admiring them at the Singapore airport; pure heaven for being there. Also on our patio in Indonesia we had a wall covered with them. Yes, the light is essential and we did drive around one afternoon for finding the perfect lot to build our home on, with morning sun at breakfast in our bay window. Veranda is the south side so that is great for light loving plants.
Enjoy you tulips, here it is sunny and 29°C! Tomorrow rain though for 3 consecutive days..
Hugs,
Mariette
Son preciosas las orquídeas. Me gustán muchísimos.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Querida Antónia,
Delete¡Me encantó esta dulce ficha de mi Pieter! Las orquídeas son las favoritas.

Dearest Tanza,
DeleteYes, for our region it will soon be full spring!
Hugs,
Mariette
Liefs,
Mariette
So pretty
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteThank you and yes, they really are!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh I so agree...makes a huge difference in my mood...
ReplyDeleteDearest Janey,
DeleteYes, sunshine lifts one's spirit up like nothing else.
Hugs,
Mariette
What beautiful flowers and such cute pots! I agree, it's always a real mood booster when it's a sunny day! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you had a nice weekend :)
Away From The Blue
Dearest Mica,
DeleteWe all need sunshine, especially the little ones for being able to play outside.
Hugs,
Mariette
The orchids are quite pretty. I love sunny days! We woke up today, our first Autumn day with lots of rain and it will last for 2 or 3 days...
ReplyDeleteDearest Sami,
DeleteThey really are, sweet pots too.
For real Autumn it is too early but you still can have such dreary days, like we will have now for 3 days.
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful orchids. Are they difficult to grow and maintain?
ReplyDeleteDearest Suzi,
DeleteThank you and no they are rather easy to grow and maintain, provided you give them plenty of LIGHT! We learned to appreciate them while living and working in Indonesia, we had them on the patio on the wall. Orchids are so beautiful Mariette, I also love the flower pots, so cute 💜
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
DeleteYes, they are a regal flower in many ways and the pots are darling.

Mariette
