{Beaver Location}

  • Just feel like showing you where we found this beaver.
  • NOT on our property and as Fabby's Living wrote: 'I just love how the beaver just posed for your camera...so adorable!!' Sorry Fabby, but that beaver did no longer pose, it was dead.
  • Guess that TexWisGirl and The Smart Cat were right about this beaver having been a flood casualty.
  • It sure was not killed by car as Madelief suggested. As I already stated right at the top; it was dead but no wounds, nothing.
  • Johanna from Silber-und-Rosen-Shop did mention that I'd never mentioned this beaver in our wood garden. At least we have NEVER EVER seen any beaver damage but it lived just around the corner from our street, near the big pond. Our creek runs through that pond, underneath the road.
  • There is another creek a bit further and at its banks more or less we found this beaver on the side of the road. Probably got washed out of his house! We did have some 18" or 45.7 cm of rain in a couple of days!!!
  • So please look at this Aerial photo that I took from bing.com
Bing.com aerial view
  • The blue dot is wrongly placed by Bing and by Google.
  • But in red, at the top of this aerial view, I have marked and pointed at our home.
  • Below the red words 'Our Home>', you find the BIG pond and a bit further where another creek runs, through a wooded area with a lot of trees, that's where we found this beaver! Where the arrow (chevron) points.
Hope this does clarify that it was NOT on our property. Thanks for your time and yes, nature is amazing, especially for both of us coming from such a densily populated country like The Kingdom of The Netherlands! We treasure this property and hope we can manage to stay here for a long time to come.

{1925 Art Nouveau Silver Brooch with Roses}

For you again a special find from the Old World. This time it is a 1925 Art Nouveau Silver Brooch with Roses in very nice repousse work. It is 6.7cm x 2.4cm in size, or 2.6" x 0.9" and has a well functioning needle with secure lock. See last picture below. Again this is available at Spectrenoir.
Photo is taken outside on the balcony and the sun is a bit reflecting in the roses...
But at least you get to see the beautiful repousse silver work.
This one has less reflection from the sun...
I admire those silver smiths how they can create such life-like roses with buds and leaves!

This is the reverse side of the brooch and you see the needle and its locking system.
To the left at the top, under the rim you can read the 800 silver mark.
One more 800 silver mark on the arch of the locking system.

{FRIENDS are ANGELS of LOVE}

  • FRIENDS are indeed ANGELS of LOVE! We both are blessed with having great friends who are at our side during happy and sad moments and vise versa.
  • Thanksgiving we had once again a very happy 'Family' time over delicious food. Nourishing our body and also healing my severe back pain.
  • Thanks to our friends I could stay rested and today I feel so much better. So glad that I don't need to start taking Prednisone again!
  • FRIENDS are ANGELS of LOVE!
  • I did spell it out on a piece of silk ombré velvet with my 925  silver alphabet angels from Giovanni Raspini Charms & Co, Italy. Those and more are available at Spectrenoir.

So appropriate...

Don't forget my worldwide GIVEAWAY. See to the right at my blog; click it...

{Acrylic Frame with Transparent Acrylic BOLTS & NUTS}

As written already earlier, I did find in Milan, Italy these Transparent Acrylic BOLTS & NUTS to use with the Acrylic Frames. A perfect way for preserving your antique heirloom lace work from Grandma or other relative. No more worries about staining it or being afraid to use it at all. This is a unique way to display antique lace against a dark brick or wooden wall or as a window hanging. What do you think?
  • Perfect for hanging on a brick wall or on a wooden back ground. LINK for Purchase is below post.

  • Or for hanging in the window...

  • View by night.

Simple framing between two sheets of clear acrylic and fastened with the transparent Italian Bolts & Nuts.
Nothing takes away from the beauty of the antique French knotted filet lace with cherubs.
On my on line boutique I do offer two of these, they could be hung facing each other or used individually.
I have not charged anything for the tedious crocheting around these antique pieces.
Sorry, both are SOLD OUT...

Just wanted to present them to others as an example of what can be done with any antique heirloom piece of lace.

The advantage of this acrylic is also that it is safe for shipping. Of course, glass could be used as well, if someone would prefer that.
Do you like it?
Would you have some pieces of lace for displaying this way?

Ask if you want to purchase some of the Transparent Acrylic Bolt and Nuts for use with Acrylic Frames of your own!
