It is now over one month, since my Mom went to heaven and I want to THANK all of you for your sweet comments, emails and any support that we have received. It feels good for having such an extended network of friends that do care and are there for one another during times of trial.
YES, I am doing fine! Photo from February 8, when we went for a walk around the neighborhood.

When I did see this Cashmere knit top on sale at Last Call by Neiman Marcus, I had to have it...
Waiting long enough, it went down from $ 298.00 to $ 89.50!
Love its Words of Wisdom; like Life's Complete Poetry!
Aside from that, this very Cashmere top I will treasure forever, as I wore this during the last FaceTime call with Mom; 2-½ days before her death.
Here I am wearing it on my black Escada jeans from the Last Call Neiman Marcus Outlet in Orlando, Florida and with my sleeveless black cashmere mock neck underneath for added warmth.
Suede boots are also from Last Call.
Yes, I have lost weight, all the way down to 50.9 kg (112 lbs) I went back up to 51.7 kg (113.7 lbs) on January 21 and now I'm around 52 kg (114.4 lbs) and feeling great; which is important!
Mainly I have been worrying about his guy... Husband Pieter had heart cramps or Angina Pectoris.
Guess it was from all the stress and emotions from the last couple of months.
On February 17, Pieter got all the results from his Cardiologist from the Electrocardiogram, Nuclear stress test and Echo and he does not need surgery. On March 10, he is seeing his Heart Surgeon. We were so happy!
It is only 4-½ years ago since Pieter had his quadruple bypass + stent placed in his neck—and these heart cramps did scare us.
Ironically, his previous appointment with his Heart Surgeon on January 27, got cancelled... that was the day Mom went to heaven!
I want to keep this guy next to me for many more years; God willing!
Continuing our Blissful Relationship...
On the day that my youngest brother did FaceTime, while he was visiting Mom in the hospital, I did walk outside with my iPad, so husband Pieter too could see Mom and talk with her.
It was when Pieter almost had finished the 57 m (187 ft) long Wood Trail from the greenhouse up near the house.
Huge tree roots had lifted it up, so Pieter did take it up entirely, put new wood beams underneath and took all rusted nails out and drilled in life-time warranty screws.
He also put side boards alongside, for keeping the soil from getting washed by rain onto the trail.
Pieter did treat it with a wood preservative.
Here I proudly stand on the finished Wood Trail on January 28, the day after Mom went to heaven, together with Speckie–girl).
Just iPhone pictures but you get an idea...
Love this quote:
'I wear the key of memory, and can open every door in the house of my life'. - Amelia E. Barr
Thanks again! ♥
i am glad you are both doing well with your health.
ReplyDeleteDearest Theresa,
DeleteThank you and it's the most important thing!
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, I am happy that things are starting to look up for you and Pieter. Your house and yard projects are always amazing--the quality, such as that walkway with board edgings, is so high that it looks like something you would see in a park, not necessarily at a private home.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteAll his life, Pieter has been a very hard worker and all he does is TOP.We do hope that it will all hold up for the duration of our lives...
Our health we treasure most and our diet is one thing we can do about it. For the rest we have to avoid all things negative and enjoy our friends and close relatives instead.
Sending you blessings for March,
Mariette
Im sure the heart cramps would have been really scary dearest Mariette.. but glad to hear both you and Pieter are doing well. Also, you looking really pretty in the Cashmere :) Have a great sunday!
ReplyDeleteDearest Pallavi,
DeleteThank you and yes, we did live through a really scary time, on top of Mom's death. But things looks stable again and we learned to even more focus on each other!
Love that Cashmere sweater and also its Words of Wisdom; they are good to live by.
Hugs,
Mariette
Leuke foto's. Jullie zien er alle twee goed uit! Heerlijk zo'n man die kan klussen!
ReplyDeleteBeste Ada,

Dearest Mariette, I am sorry about your Mom, I wasn't active in the blogosphere those days and I probably missed your post. Our grandma passed away in December and we too we're mourning.
ReplyDeleteThe cashmere looks very nice and has meaningful words.
I also hope that health continue to boost nicely with you and your husband.
Mari-Meanwhile in Russia
Dearest Mari,
DeleteThank you and yes, whenever a loved one passes away we go through a mourning period. So sorry for your loss and hope you are doing well.
The cashmere top with its meaningful words is very special!
Health is the most important thing for all of us, we try to stay happy and healthy.
Sending you hugs and blessings,
Mariette
Liefs,
Mariette
Hi Mariette, your cashmere knit top looks very comfy and beautiful with all the lovely words. How special it was what you were wearing during last call with your mom.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your husband Pieter won't need surgery. And it's good your weight is back. Worrying is not a good way to lose weight! Have a wonderful day xoxo
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteThank you and yes, this soft cashmere knit top will forever remind me of my Mom!
No, both of us feel so relieved and for losing weight that is not a good reason.
Wishing you both and your kids a lovely March. Let's hope spring finally will arrive!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you both are doing better. Beautiful pictures!
Sending you hugs and lots of love <3
Doris
Dearest Doris,
DeleteYes, we both are very glad too and now looking forward to some nice spring weather!
Hugs and love from Georgia and stay warm.
Mariette
Lieve Mariette,
ReplyDeleteLieve groet,
Beste Willy,
We doen ons best!
Liefs,
Mariette
Hello! This has been a challenging few months for you and family ~ it's wonderful to learn surgery isn't looming. Both of you look wonderful! I love the Cashmere and words of inspiration! Everything going well for son Carl and myself in Bend. Stay warm down there, Spring is on the way!

Dearest Helen,
DeleteYes, we lived through some rough times but so happy indeed that no more surgery is looming.
We feel happy and healthy and with that I guess we just move on and be positive! Life is so good still and so much to enjoy.
Glad that you and Carl are doing well also. Stay warm too, here it is sunny today so spring might finally attempt to move in.

Good news after some scary weeks but we're happy!
Sending you hugs and best wishes for a lovely month of March,

I am glad that after a very sad experiences you have to fit well and husband too. We have almost the same weight. :)
ReplyDeleteDearest Giga,
DeleteGlad to have a kindred spirit with about the same weight! Yes, we are very happy that for the time being health looks good again.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful post my dearest Mariette. Your cashmere sweater with the wonderful wording is just beautiful. I'm delighted to learn Pieter is not headed for surgery. Loved seeing your wonderful photos you both are looking strong and in wonderful spirits. Many blessings on this Sunday and wishing you a wonderful week ahead. HUgs, Celia M. (HHL)
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
DeleteThank you and yes, we both are in wonderful spirits; ready for spring! Today it is in the 70s and blue sky with sunshine! Makes one happy.
Sending you hugs and blessings for a mild March!
Mariette

Liebe Mariette,
Mariette
You look as lovely as ever, Mariette!! I'm sorry for y loss, but happy that you are doing better. I wish Pieter all my best- he looks spray too! Xo
ReplyDeleteDearest Stacy,
DeleteThank you for your compliment and we both feel very happy, and Mom residing in heaven is a blessing too! One less worry.
Pieter will pull through again, no doubt as a solid foundation of love can handle life's valleys.
Blessings to you as well!
Mariette
Chic, liebe Mariette!
Liebe Grüsse an euch alle!
Mariette
DeleteAlles Liebe nochmals
Sara
I think of your dear Mother frequently, usually when I think about the passing of my own Mme Mère in 2013. I think they would have been great friends I am a bit concerned about your weight loss, but you look lovely, as usual.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself and Pieter. I'm sure your Mother is watching over you both.
Big hugs to ma chère amie,
M-T
Dearest Marie-Thérèse,
DeleteIt is just a coincidence that we lost both our Mme Mère so close together and who knows they are friends now?! Don't worry about my weight loss, I'm back at 52 kg and that way my size 34 fits perfect. No matter what, I never will grow into a big person and that's fine! Maybe that's why they always think I'm French when we visit Atlanta... Funny how looks reveal a French Connection. À propos, that's the title of my next post!
Yes, Mom is watching over me together with my angel sister; that is a very soothing feeling.
Hugs and blessings to both of you,
Mariette
thank you for sharing with us. Praying for health for both of you. And that cashmere knit top looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
DeleteThank you and we both are very positive about our health.
The cashmere top felt like winning the lottery and I will treasure that for years to come!
Hugs,
Mariette
Deaerest Mariette,
ReplyDeletethank you for those lovely photos from you and husband Pieter :O)
Love your cashemere Shirt!
You both take care and all the Best for you both!
Have a happy new week,
Love and hugs
Claudia
Dearest Claudia,
DeleteYou are quite welcome, always great to share happiness in our lives!
That cashmere sweater is so super soft and also very light but oh so warm...
Happy month of March to both of you.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette; Oh My!!! So Happy that your husband won't need surgery. I can imagine how much it scared both of you. I HAVE the same feeling toward mine that wishing him beside me many more years :-) And wonderful to see you both looking great in the pictures; relieving that you are gaining weight, isn't it, ☆☆☆ How marvelous these great Words of Wisdom are printed on your Cashmere top♪♪♪ You look fabulous on it♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteWishing you will have a wonderful new week.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Dearest Miyako,
DeleteThank you so much for your wise and kind words and yes, you and I have only one wish; to keep our husbands beside us for many more years!
We are very happy and enjoy life to the fullest. My weight is stable again, not heavy but okay for my shape. I could be Asian in a way... never will grow any bigger no matter what I try.
Enjoy a lovely March month ahead and lots of fabulous blossoms.
Hugs and love across the oceans from Georgia, USA.
Mariette
Liebste Mariette,
Liefs.
Mariette
You look lovely Mariette. so happy that you and your husband are feeling well, and that he will not need surgery. He did a great job on your boardwalk.
ReplyDeleteDearest Deborah,
DeleteThank you and yes, we both are very happy! So many big projects have been done by Pieter. Let's hope all this will last.
Hugs,
Mariette
Lei è molto vicino a me fino al mio ultimo respiro, proprio come mia sorella e altri parenti e amici.
Abbraccio forte da me,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
ReplyDeleteich schicke Dir und Pieter viele gute Wünsche und grüße Euch sehr herzlich.
Alles Liebe von Traudi aus dem Drosselgarten
Liebe Traudi,
DeleteVielen Dank für deine liebe Wörter hier!
Auch herziche und liebe Grüsse zu euch.
Mariette
I pray that you two will continue to be well for many more years to come. Keeping busy with outside chores surely must be good for Pieter. They say that passion and purpose are good for us all. Take care, Tammy
ReplyDeleteDearest Tammy,
DeleteThank you so much and yes, that is our only wish!
Passion is there and purpose always follows...
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI am catching up with you, and late to see this post, but I want to say that you look so lovely in your cashmere with the wise words to remind you to be brave, my Dear. Life does become difficult at times and we struggle to go forward, but with courage and love we get by. It is good news that Pieter does not need surgery, and also that you are gaining a bit of weight. How wonderful that Pieter built the board walk for you to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Keeping busy keeps you young! I can see the true devotion that you both have for one another - it is a precious thing. Sending you love and hugs xo Karen
Dearest Karen,
DeleteThank you so much for your sweet words here. Yes, this board walk got a complete overhaul and Pieter is almost done now in giving it another coating to protect it for years to come. Today was so lovely that I joined Pieter after breakfast (had to have blood work done before) for making a complete walk over our estate. Starts looking great and now spring is coming we enjoy all the hard labor!
Sending you hugs and blessings as well.
Mariette
Bonsoir Mariette
Da hast Du ja was mitgemacht!
Deletehttps://rostrose.blogspot.com/2020/06/wieder-begegnungen-im-mai.html
Sara
