On April 8 our Balta Rhododendron was very showy, with its white hose-in-hose flowers. Guess it is perfect for showing these on 'White Thursday'. This Rhododendron is very compact. Enjoy these images from our garden. We have this lovely Rhododendron close to our gazebo. Join us for a Garden Tour
This almost gives me goose bumps, as I made these photos on April 10 after I did do some sewing and thought hey, let me share this great find with my readers... Learn from Mariette. That great find is the use of empty Ferrero gift boxes, for putting up sewing notions. It perfectly houses all kind of threads and with a rubber band around, it is perfect to sort by color. Got about five myself and it works great. You don't have to rummage through different boxes to find what you're looking for, as you clearly see the contents!
SAD to read that yesterday, on April 18, Pietro Ferrero died at age 47... May he Rest In Peace!
Ferrero Roche hazelnut chocolates are great together with a good coffee and now you know another great use for the gift box after that last one has been consumed.
A nice way to recycle and keeping our planet green!
Glad to share this with you, but sad knowing Pietro Ferrero is no more...
This is another Azalea from the Confederate series in our garden. Rhododendron 'Stonewall Jackson' azalea produces bright orange-red, funnel-shaped flowers in spring. Flowers are quite similar to the flame azalea.
On April 5, I made these photos of the orange Rhododendron 'Stonewall Jackson'. Too bad I could not capture them before, due to heavy rain...
Confederate hybrid azaleas derived from the Florida azalea crossed with Exbury azaleas by horticulturists in Alabama. Confederate azaleas demonstrate good tolerance to humidity with lower risks of leaf mildew and plant rot. Examples of some cultivars in this azalea group are Admiral Semmes, Colonel Mosby and Stonewall Jackson.
In my previous blog you already saw Admiral Semmes, the other Rhododendron from the Confederate series we have in our garden.

This Rhododendron we also got from the Durio Nursery in Louisiana.
