Our Sugar Maple

Our Acer Saccharum Marshall or Sugar Maple was looking rather nice and full on November 5.
Rain and wind did not add to it since...

Na verdade, o post anterior é ainda mais bonito!
Mas a cada outono é uma visão bonita.

  4. It's a beautiful tree. All the trees here are beginning to look rather bare.

    1. Dearest Jackie,
When driving to the north of Georgia, I noticed their beautiful orange color and the fact that my Pieter was colorblind and could never distinguish any reds and greens, this was perfect.
It has been more intense orange in previous years, depending of course on the season's rainfall etc.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  6. Lovely fall colours, Mariette. Alas, our trees are rather bare now, for the most part. 🍂

    1. Dearest Kim,
Yes, you are so much more north and way ahead of us in the fall and behind in the spring...
It is only a brief moment that we can enjoy this beauty!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  7. What vivid color. I always enjoy seeing the sugar maples compared to the oaks. The oaks just never take on quite the color. I used to enjoy the purple of the ash trees but we have none in Ohio anymore thanks to the Emerald Ash borer. With our drought, our trees just turned yellow and dropped. And now the oaks that normally hang on until Dec. have turned completely brown and are dropping. We have leaf blowed, (the both of us together) 3 times and we have mountains of leaves we pile up in the "back 40" which is just the rear of our 1/2 acre and leave wild for the critters. Thank you for sharing this lovely photo. Precious did spend the past 2 eves on my legs and I am grateful she is feeling better. But scared every time we both move, in case we were to grab her and haul her off, lol. Lynn and Precious

    1. Dearest Lynn and Precious,
So true about the oaks, they hold onto their leaves quite long but no color. Beach trees look better and they are the very last to shed.
Precious has to do without her catio for quite a while but she will adjust.
      Hugs,

  9. Mariette what a lovely purrfectly shape tree it is too.
It is quite blustery here today. The leaves are dancing the jitterbug in the air

    1. Dearest Cecilia,
You are a keen observer and yes, this is in a perfect shape due to space and close enough to the creek for water.
It is looking very gray looking here as well and tomorrow rain.
That will knock down lots of leaves!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  12. Beautiful. We used to have a lot of sugar maples when I first lived here in 1992, but sadly, none have survived in our yard. XO

That is sad that you've lost all of your sugar maples—they are true beauties in the fall!

  13. That is a very pretty tree! Here our color was at its peak about three weeks ago...now most of the leaves are off the trees, helped by a lot of strong winds the past few days...and rain, too. In our yard the downed leaves were so thick the mulching mower almost got clofgged with them.
Thanks for sharing your fall beauty!
