Langermannia gigantea or Giant puffball

It seems like mushrooms will be following us our entire life...

This one popped up on our front lawn and was rather huge with about 10 inches diameter or 25 cm.

Photo got taken of this 'Langermannia gigantea' or Giant puffball on November 24.

Looking kind of pleated... Similar though to the one from hidden forest in New Zealand, click on the name to see its picture and scroll to the bottom.

The same one now on November 30... Darker brown and even more pleated.

December 6, still darker and now measuring its diameter.

Almost 10 inches or 25 cm in diameter!

Maybe someone can tell its name with more certainty...

We INDULGED in Japanese Persimmons

Before I will post about our very special trip, don't reveal it yet... I have to show you our perfect Japanese Persimmons that we found at the Charlottesville, Virginia Whole Foods Market.

LOVE these Japanese Persimmons... they are the non-astringent ones, you bite them like an apple and they also keep very well.

They looked near perfect!

One such beauty, looking like true art work!

They were grown here in the USA from the Madera Persimmon Growers Inc. in Madera, California

Our Acer Saccharum Marshall or Sugar Maple Tree at its BEST

Already on November 20, I've taken these golden photos of our Sugar Maple Tree or Acer Saccharum Marshall.

Such a marvel to look at this Acer Saccharum Marshall!

Here you see the white bridge just to the right below the Acer Saccharum Marshall as this photo got taken from a different angle.

The weather at the time was fabulous too!

Bonus of living in the South...

Its neighbor the Red Maple or Acer Rubrum photographed with the house in the back.

Our Italian cypress are still alive, that is two of the original three. Though not very happy as they show lots of brown. We love them so much as they remind us of our time in Italy...

A beautiful Ginkgo tree we captured on our recent biking trip on November 28!
