For serving your guests some of your home baked sweets, you can use this lovely Christofle Pastry Tong. Very fine, old craftsmanship is being shown here and it is just simple elegant. Again, this was available at my Zen Cart powered on line boutique: Mariette's Back to Basics. Prepare a special tea for your lady friends and create some charm from a bygone era at your own home.
Here are some 'cashew clusters' from Costco, served on Royal Doulton English Rose China with the elegant Christofle Pastry Tong.
Simple Elegance...
The antique enameled porcelain Camille Tharaud Limoges cocoa shaker I did show in a previous post: 1930s Camille Tharaud Limoges Shaker for dusting YOUR Cappuccino's with Cocoa.
Also the Christofle toast /napkin/letter rack I did show: Antique Christofle Toast Rack + New Ideas for You!
As well as the antique Christofle sugar sifter spoon to the right on top of the blue berries. Of course it can serve a dual purpose! Look for it here: {1862 Christofle Sugar Sifter Spoon 'Filet Violon'} .
Christofle mark shown up close.
It is dating from the 1935-1983 era.
Sorry Sold out...
Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely high tea set out for your friends and I love your sweet Rose Royal Dalton set and the elegant Christofle pastry tong.
The cashew clusters look delicious.
Thanks for visiting me and interesting enough, one of the trams in my post was actually from Melbourne and who knows, maybe you might have ridden in it.
I know what you are saying about the need to be careful with crossing roads with driving on the opposite side of the road, we noticed the same thing in Europe.
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Hello Mariette,
ReplyDeletepastry tongs are so versatile. I use mine for sweets as well as for savory sandwiches. They are really helpfull. this is another wonderful china with roses. Just great.
Best greetings, Johanna
I love the China......such beautiful flowers and colours.... very nice.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday.
Bianca xx

Very pretty - I especially love your china. I have a few bone china coffe sets (Sammeltassen) from Deutschland that I got over the years between the age of 10 and 12 (yes, back then, the girls actually got dowry gifts for their hope chest) and now I'm just keeping them for my daughter as I'm afraid to break yet one more cup (I'm so mad at myself)...they represent such fond memories of the people who gave them to me and I want to preserve a tiny bit of history by passing them on to my daughter one day.
ReplyDelete(or coffee) time sounds lovely ;-)
Ich wollte sagen: Tee oder Kaffee Klatsch hoert sich gut an :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG I love this setting. Beautiful china and love the pastry server. I just bought a beautiful, not vintage though, pastry/sandwich server at a china boutique in the French Quarter and used it for the first time this morning...for our biscuits LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou always feature such beautiful items, Mariette. I love pastry tong as well as the delicate china.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment over at my place! You were one of the people I thought of as I wrote that post, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! I can't think of a better way to exercise one's brain than to practice writing and speaking a language other than one's native tongue. And you speak six! I'm in awe.
Wishing you a beautiful week! xoxo Gigi
