{Our New Spiraea Cantoniensis (dbl Bridal Wreath Spirea)}

  • Last year I did a post about: Our Cornus Kousa (Japanese Dogwoods) & Spiraea Cantoniensis (dbl Bridal Wreath Spirea) ←(right click it) with quite some lush flowers of the Spiraea Cantoniensis or double Bridal Wreath Spirea
  • So let me show you first a photo from last year to get the idea. This is because this year's blossoms were not even one third of what we had last year. Again, the toll we paid for the extreme hot and dry summer.

  • This was such a perfect mass of flowers on our Spiraea Cantoniensis or double Bridal Wreath Spirea in 2011.
  • Like a dream and almost looking like flowers of the lilac!

  • This is our new little 'baby' that we've planted this spring. We bought it in Baxley, Georgia at County Farm Plant Co., Inc.
  • They are on Facebook: County- Farm Plant-Co We went there on Sunday, March 11 with our best friend.
  • Quite a discovery this nursery with 42 greenhouses that look so meticulous and with the healthiest plants, shrubs and trees you can wish for.
  • All of you lucky Georgians, you can go there. They're open 7 days a week!

  • No doubt, this little baby will do well. It is planted beside the gazebo, where also the Scilla Campanulata bloom.
  • Have you planted any new shrubs this spring?
  • Do you also prefer as many white flowers as we do?

  1. Liebe Mariette,

    Sara

  3. I love white flowers but I haven't planted any new ones yet. It's still a bit cold here in Sweden.

  4. Hallo liebe Mariette,

    Groet,
    Audrey

  9. Dear Mariette,

Beautiful! I love all the gorgeous white blooms. It really does look like a bridal bouquet.
I planted a new hedge of Lavender Dentata and some hydrangeas in the weekend and we have some glorious rain, to help them grow well.

    Happy Sunday
    Hugs
    Carolyn

  10. Soon we will lose our growing season as it is already getting warm. My plants didn't fare quite so well this year. Not as lush as in year's past. Blooms never lasted very long. The dust really suffocates them, I think.

You changed up your blog. I still haven't taken the time to redo my sidebar. I've taken nearly two days to sort out the photo in Picasa Web. So many doubles and sometimes triples of photos that just take up space.

Hope you've had a great weekend. Tammy
