Even though the HOT summer heat here in Georgia/USA is not very suitable for roses or any flowers for that matter, we did yield some Heavenly Jardins de Bagatelle Roses from the new supply via Roses Unlimited, planted on May 2nd of this year.
Tender leaves have been burned from the hot July 8 sun...
But still, this heavenly perfumed rose is such a joy to have!
We also harvested two perfect Jasminum Sambac - Jasmine Grand Duke of Tuscany buds.
The first, and larger flower on May 5, when it was not yet that hot...
A Baccarat perfume bottle is perfect as a vase.
Such soft pink touches...
Wish we could have them more often in bloom but it is really hard here in the Southeast.
These Jasmines were perfect!
Hope you enjoyed our treasures...

Ger
Good Morning Mariette, I adore roses, they really are one of my favourite flowers, so it was such a treat to see your gorgeous Heavenly Jardins de Bagatelle rose.... and such a beautiful name.
ReplyDeleteI love Jasmine flowers.... I think they are the perfect little flower and their perfume is quite delicious.
I love how you displayed the Jasmine.... Indian style... a beautiful little dish with a little water and the flowers floating on the top.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Best Wishes to you.
Daphne
Hello Mariette, Even in a year that is not ideal for growing, you always have the knack of obtaining some perfect blooms.

Yes, it is difficult in this heat to get much to survive, yet alone bloom. Your roses are lovely, though. I'm happy for you that they are blooming along with the fragrant Jasmine.
ReplyDeleteDearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous your rose is and love the pretty delicate colour and the jasamin buds must smell heavenly.
Hope you have a great weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Lieve Mariette ,
Pretty flowers. I've bought more plants for our balcony but am only able to have them on the one where there's a tarp for protection. It's still 120 here during the day so the plants burn up in no time if in direct sunlight. Am going to try my hand at growing from seed for when the weather starts to cool off at the end of the year. Have a good weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteDearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rose. I love the blush of pink; what a bonus to have a fragrant variety.

P.S. Today I had the letter in the postbox! So, in the following week I will try again, but first I must finish a sewing job for my hubby's work .....
Paola
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses! They must smell heavenly, as well as the jasmine. The hot south does produce some lovely flowers though, nothing that we can get up north. Like camellias, gardenias, etc. Glad you got a few of those roses to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGood day to you, sweet Mariette! Your rose is truly a thing of beauty and charm. May you have a lovely day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThose rose photos make my heart warm. Soft pink petals have special beauty.
ReplyDeleteWelch zarte Schönheit !!! Der Duft muss himmlisch sein !
ReplyDeleteLiebe Mariette, hab eine glückliche Woche. Liebe Grüße von Carmen
