It is about time for showing you some photos, taken on September 8...
Things blooming in our garden.
On September 8, I walked around and captured some of our summer blooms.
This is a beautiful summer Azalea, in a pot on our patio, right below the kitchen bay window.
Hummingbirds LOVE it!
Crocosmia blooming abundantly!
Showing you the actual size of a Crocosmia flower...
Our hummingbirds love them!
On September 8, our Hydrangea paniculata, Limelight a late–summer and autumn blooming variety that starts indeed out a bit 'greenish'.
Kwekkie still checking IF there is one more kernel left from her breakfast...
She is on our driveway in the morning—together with the kitties, waiting for breakfast!
A happy duck!
Our Liriope muscari variegata, near the driveway are blooming...
A Moonflower Ipomoea alba, around breakfast time—after blooming at night.
An insect is inside.
New Moonflower Ipomoea alba buds—ready to unfold during the night at our Rose Arbor.
September 8, I spotted the first Spider lilies in bloom and more buds to open soon.
Our Spunky girl—inside the garden hose near the driveway...
On September 12, showing you the HUGE size of our Moonflower's leaves!
Yep, they LOVED all that August rain...
That trellis photo did NOT show the Moonflower Ipomoea alba's actual size!
This was early morning, during a darker day so they thought it still was not yet DAYTIME...
Our Oxalis are blooming again!
They got all whacked off with a weed eater—by our over–active garden crew!
But since those are bulbs, they did come back.
Our Hydrangea paniculata, Limelight on September 22 in the sunlight.
And on the fence, the Potato Vine or Solanum laxum 'Album'.
Hoping you enjoyed our summer bloomers!
Do you have anything blooming in summer?

Oh I loved every ONE! I haven't see a moon flower in ages (since I was first married 100 years ago) and I never knew the Oxalis BLOOMED! Everything is beautiful and I love Qwekkie! And you have a potted CAT! Those are HARD to grow,
ReplyDeleteDearest Katie Isabella,
DeleteGlad you saw Pieter's favorite summer bloomer here! They really outdid themselves this summer.
Oxalis are so lovely! We have those now for several decades and they too multiply; bulbs that is...
Kwekkie did not come for food today... but usually she is there, together with the kitties at breakfast and supper time!
Haha, that is not quite a potted CAT.
Kitties make one laugh by showing us their favorite spots; why in the world inside a coiled garden hose?
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh, what beautiful blooms you are enjoying, Mariette! I wish we had a hydrangea that would bloom later in the season, but at least it did bloom in the spring. Our impatiens are still producing, but that will fade soon. I'm just so excited for the arrival of October and the full potential of fall!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteYes, those are real summer beauties—the final blooms before the changing of color for the leaves. Yes, fall is coming our way with its own beauty!
Hugs,
Mariette
Wonderful to have nature around.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Dearest Christina,
DeleteYes, that is always a big bonus, a perfect view already during breakfast.
Hugs,
Mariette
I, too, loved every photo, Mariette. Just what I needed to see this morning, the glorious blooms, plus Spunky and Kwekkie. :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteThank you and I'm glad you did enjoy the blooms and Spunky.
When I opened the oak shutters of our bedroom, there stood Kwekkie—on the driveway.
Being late for breakfast and not having eaten here at all yesterday.
Funny, how a 'wild' duck can become like a pet!
Hugs,
Mariette
I have never seen summer azaleas. Thanks for sharing. Your daily care have brought gifts of beauty.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
DeleteYes, blooms are a perfect reward for good care.
I've added below my post now the Azalea Society of America's info with 3 names for late blooming azaleas at the bottom.
You no doubt can find them in Japan!
Hugs,
Mariette
What wonderful flowers and beautiful colours. Your garden is like living in Paradise. So lovely.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteYes, it is an added summer bonus.
But living in paradise requires a lot of work...😉

ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteThank you and we indulge in those sights!
Happy weekend and hugs to you.

What a fabulous collection of flowers you have, many of them quite new to me. I have seen photos of a limelight hydrangea but never seen one in reality. They look beautiful. Kwekkie the duck is gorgeous, what a cutie!
ReplyDeleteDearest Patricia,
DeleteThank you and yes, here we actually find blooms—year round.
In winter it is the different varieties of Camellias...
The Limelight hydrangea is stunning!
Kwekkie adopted Pieter, while I was in Limburg, The Netherlands and she's accepted me upon my arrival. Now she acts like one of our resident critters!
Hugs,
Mariette

Dearest Mariette. Gorgeous Blooms with Beautiful colors, I wish I have the talent you have for the gardening ♬
ReplyDeleteDearest Miyako,
DeleteWell, it is more of hard work than talent... But oh so rewarding.
Hugs,
Mariette
I enjoyed all the beautiful blooms in your lovely garden, Mariette. I am especially captivated by the moonflower. There is a moonflower plant in my mom's nursing home and I do have several photos of the unopened flowers on my phone. Visitors are not allowed into the home after 6:00PM and I never get to see the moonflowers in full bloom. Your photos are such a treat, dearest friend!
ReplyDeleteDearest Veronica,
DeleteSo happy that you loved seeing this fully opened moonflower!
Sad that you never get to see the ones at your Mom's nursing home... but rules are rules.
Thank you for your compliment.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi again, Mariette. Can I have your permission to share your beautiful moonflower photo on my blog in one of my upcoming posts? I will, of course, credit the photo to you.
DeleteHugs and blessings 💐
Dearest Veronica,
DeleteYou sure have my/our permission to use this photo!
Thanks for your sweet friendship and courtesy.
Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteFlowering gardens always make my heart happy and for what I can see, Kwekkie and your Spunky girl, look as merry as the flowers!🐈🦆🌹
Dearest Paula,
DeleteGuess it IS a ripple effect of happiness for all critters and humans!
All our kitties are very happy inside this little paradise of their own.
So are we.
A lot of satisfaction out of the hard work...
Hugs,
Pieter and Mariette
Oh, I believe they are very happy!
DeleteAnd you and Pieter worked very hard to built your little paradise and are now collecting the rewards of the seeds of happiness you sowed before.
May God continue to bless you both more and more, each day!
:)
That is our daily prayer—God granting us some more time together... 🤗
DeleteThat's my prayer, too. For you both and for Nuno and I!
