{Our Victorian hybrid Pelargonium Rosebuds}

Regardless the heavy rain that we got from the beginning of June till now, we managed to have beautiful Victorian hybrid Pelargonium Rosebuds on June 7. Victorian hybrid features clusters of tiny double blossoms, like a mini bouquet of roses. In years past, the blooms were used for small corsages or to decorate a buttonhole. Have you ever seen them?
Here you see in my silver Rose vase from left to right: the Geranium 'Pink Rosebud' (Pelargonium hybrid); 'Appleblossom Rosebud' and the 'Red Rosebud'. Below post you find link with address in Connecticut where we obtained also ours. There also is a link to a blogger in Norway with an even more extensive collection.
Not so easy to capture them during cloudy weather but this photo does show them clearly.
'Pink Rosebud' at the bottom; 'Appleblossum Rosebud' in the center and 'Red Rosebud' at the top.
Here is the 'Appleblossum Rosebud' Pelargonium budding inside our greenhouse...

Yup, that's what my tiny silver vase is; from an antique silver handled walking stick...
Hope you enjoyed these mini rose bouquets!

{Our Royal Bonica Rose}

Proudly I want to show you our one and only survivor of the Royal Bonica roses that we used to have several of. It was quite a show when Pieter offered me the first fragile blossom. One of our favorite pinks. Not fragrant but very pretty as you will see from these photos below. Too bad most died last year from the heat...
This Royal Bonica Rose got a royal treatment...
Is she not a beauty?
Sitting proudly on a Gien Rose Canapé plate...
Inside a sterling silver Repoussé Rose vase.
On the windowsill in our living room. Placing a cereal bowl from Gien Rose upside down to elevate the silver vase with the Royal Bonica.
Even the leaves are pretty on this Royal Bonica Rose.
She might not be back to full restored health yet but she will be stronger and fuller we hope.
This is  from several years back when we used to have a vase full of Royal Bonica.
Displayed here on our kitchen table in a crystal Baccarat pitcher.
We certainly have to find some more Royal Bonica rose bushes so we once again can fill a vase with these beauties...
Fond memories!
Tell me, do you have a favorite rose or color rose as well with some special memories?

{Chocolates from Ria IT'S ME...}

Sunday was the perfect afternoon for having our chocolates on the balcony because it was such a lovely day. Yes, I am talking about THE chocolates from Ria IT'S ME... Read the earlier post below about Visiting Ria from IT'S ME and Ria's reply to that here>: Bijzonder bezoek in de winkel !!.......Special visit in the shop !!......
 THANKS Ria and Rein for those delicious tulip chocolates from your Bonhof Bloemen store!
Don't they look lovely on the French Gien Rose china and the linen rose damask tablecloth?
With a cup of hot chocolate, they were a perfect match. For me the dark chocolate was my choice...
We even had some fragrant roses from our garden. That is quite a miracle after the very hot and dry summer.
For us on Sunday it was a perfect NAZOMER...
This is the Dutch version of Jeanne d'Arc Living magazine that I received from Ria and Rein.
Or a perfect LATE SUMMER...
The English version of Jeanne d'Arc Living magazine that Ria and Rein do sell from their Bonhof Bloemen store.
You can order now the Kerst or Christmas edition on their website.
Even our grass is green again after the heavy rain last week...
That makes me happy!
There is so much to be grateful for...
Things look really rosy...
This is about the best time of the year for central Georgia.
Rose silverware is seen in my earrings and also my favorite silver Rose Repousse Silver ring that I lost in April of 2019...
Let me stand up for you and go to the gazebo.
This is my silk Marc Cain skirt with Escada twinset and Escada shoes. Wolford individual 10; my favorite hosiery from the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet in NY.
Look how lovely the day was on Sunday the 16th!
Monday was equally lovely...

{Victorian hybrid Pelargonium 'Red Rosebud'}

As promised on April 21 in my blog: {RARE ANTIQUE ROSE JEANNE D'ARC} (1818 FRANCE), some more info about the Victorian hybrid Pelargonium RED ROSEBUD

 This photo shows some freshly cut Victorian hybrid Pelargonium: Red Rosebud. They are inside a tiny silver vase with embossed roses. The total height is a little over 3" and for comparison I've placed a 10 cents coin beside it. The photo is taken in our gazebo, by daylight, with the grass as background...
This Victorian hybrid features clusters of tiny double blossoms.
For my US and Canadian readers, this rare Pelargonium is available at Logee's Greenhouse.  They also sell the Pink Rosebud.
For readers in The Netherlands or nearby, they can obtain this beauty at De Gaerde where Toine Vermunt will have them for you!
For readers in Scandinavia I would recommend to visit Wenche's Pelargoniumlbog from Oslo/Norway, as they do have the Rosebud and also the Rococo; Appleblossom Rosebud; Plum Rosebud; even a  White double Rosebud and a Ruby Rosebud; and here you see the Wedding Royale...
Okay, I could go on and on but you just explore these sites and wet your appetite. These Rosebud or Rosenknopp Pelargoniums are LOVELY!
This tiny vase is actually an antique silver handled walking stick...
