Our tiled patio (see link below post) in front of the Rose Suite, also displays these cute German Wackelzwerge or Wobbly Dwarfs as they move in the wind or by touching. We got them from our German 'Son' and family. Besides being cute, they also convey an age-old moral message of: HEAR - SEE - SPEAK NO EVIL.
Does any of you have dwarfs or other statues in the garden?
This trio of Wackelzwerge - dwarfs, is glued onto the retainer wall.
HEAR - SEE - SPEAK NO EVIL
YES, I hear you...!
Wearing my Escada military style dress...
The retainer wall also holds this planter with trailing yellow plants. I have no idea what they are... anyone out there with a name for them?
Behind the yellow flowers is our Jasminum Nitidum or Royal Jasmine. Below this post there is a linkfrom a previous post I did about them.
Jasminum Nitidum 'Royal Jasmine' detail.
Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

The yellow plant is Lysimachia nummularia - common name Creeping Jenny. Have you noticed that is has squarish stems?

"See, hear, speak no evil" - that's a message that you really should think carefully about.
ReplyDeleteThe poem on my blog is about June 1 is the first of 100 summer days. Time flies and "tomorrow will soon be yesterday"

Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteHow cute the Dwarfs are and I love the message they convey.
At home we always had on the mantlepiece three little brass monkeys, that told the same message.
You look great out in your dress and love your pretty flowers.

Liebe Mariette,
They remind me of seven small dwarfs and they are cute. Yes I have one cat, a buddha and a rabbit.

I love the scent of jasmine. I think it has such a heavenly scent. I don't know what the yellow flowers are but they are also lovely. Don't you just love it when all the flowers start to bloom!
ReplyDeleteHello Mariette,
ReplyDeleteThose dwarf figurines sure are cute! You look so very lovely in the photograph. My, such stunning petals on the Royal Jasmine blooms and the yellow trailing vines in the planter are beautiful.
Wishing you a day filled with joy!
Dear Mariette
ReplyDeleteVery cute the small dwarfs. I had one in the balcony but I took him in our garden . Here are very expensive! The jasmine is wonderful! Has a strong smell?
Olympia
I like the dress you are wearing. Don't think I've seen jasmine flowers with spiky petals like that. We got the small Indian jasmine here but doesn't survive in the heat unfortunately. I've never seen the hear/speak/see no evil in dwarfs before. Very cute! And that trailing plant is beautiful. Have a great day. Tammy
