On May 12, we had as usual a bright blue sky and it made our two Acer trees stand out even more so with their spring leaves. Have a look at our Acer Negundo Kelly's Gold Yellow Box Elder and Acer Rubrum or Red Maple:
To the left, Acer Negundo Kelly's Gold Yellow Box Elder and to the right Acer Rubrum or Red Maple.
That bright green and red does not stay all summer... but in the fall they both look striking again!
Acer Negundo Kelly's Gold - Yellow Box Elder with to the left Robinia pseudo acacia - Black Locust.
The tall one to the left is an oak tree an also the one to the right is another oak tree, the sawtooth oak.
In our climate, trees grow so fast and also very tall!
Don't you love this Acer Negundo Kelly's Gold?!

Lieve Mariette,
Elk voorjaar is weer móói.
Mariette

Dearest Tamago,

What bloody lovely trees
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteUsing the Aussie term; yes they are!
Hugs,
Mariette
How absolutely gorgeous! You always have such lovely and special things to share and I for one, always learn from you, as you even have knowledge on the beautiful trees names. Thank you for your wonderful comment on my storage, but really, I have some more ugly storage too, lol... Mariette, do you speak Spanish, by any chance? Have a super week, my friend.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Dearest Fabby,
DeleteThanks and the variety of things keeps us going and that's also what people have been painting onto porcelain and ceramics for ages...
Yes, we have done consulting for Spanish speaking companies for a decade and Spanish is one of my languages.
Enjoy whatever you're up to.
Hugs,
Mariette
So lovely, Mariette! But of course, with your green thumb I do think anything you grow looks so healthy and beautiful! It must be so nice to see your hard work and nurturing paying off with large, colorful trees to enjoy from your window.
ReplyDeleteHugs, xoxo
Dearest Karen,
DeleteA green thumb alone would not do it in our harsh and too hot/dry climate. Poor water holding capacity of the soil. We are the very first people that ever cultivated this piece of land so there's not that much fertility yet. The reason those trees thrive is because their roots tap from the creek that is running behind them... Right where the grass ends that is!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Gorgeous Acer Maple tree your garden are all over beautiful.
Your Peter will all ways looking after will!
