When we were in Florida at the Bok Tower Gardens in May, we did buy us a White Bougainvillea at the gift shop.
A very neat way for keeping pot plants outdoors, to be picked up by customers and paid for inside the gift shop.

Such beautiful blossoms...
This is the entire plant inside its new pot on our patio.
Its flowers hang kind of upside down...
The above two photos show even a little greenish flower because it is old and it was not that sunny.
But 13 days later in full sunshine with new blossoms, it looks like this!
This photo shows the same blossom.
The first photo (top) has been made one week after these last two photos and it shows an even whiter blossom.
Don't you love these white beauties?

DeleteBougainvillea make summer so special...
Hugs,
Mariette
Hola Mariette querida !
DeleteBut for sure you keep yours in a pot as well because Chile is not warm enough in winter for keeping them alive... WISH we could have them permanently outdoors here!
Hugs,
Mariette
I love bougainvillea. We see mostly see pink here and some are still blooming beautifully while some have been cut back for the summer, to bloom again during our mild winters. Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy
ReplyDeleteDearest Tammy,
DeleteThat is the main color we see everywhere I guess. Also in Indonesia there were cities that had the steets lined with them in the median or otherwise. Looks so exotic!
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, Bougainvillea is truly emblematic of the South. Your white examples have an especially delicate appearance. What a great living souvenir of the Bok Tower Gardens.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteIndeed emblematic of the South but not yet hardy enough for making it through winter... In Florida of course you find them growing freely and they are so lovely. A great living souvenir of the Bok Tower Gardens!
Kindest regards,
Mariette
Just beautiful, dearest Mariette!

Oh, I've never known this kind of White Bougainvillea, Mariette. Gorgeous flower in such beautiful new green pot♡♡♡ Happy for you that the sun brought you pretty blossoms, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSending Lots of Love and Hugs to my dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Dearest Miyako,
DeleteThere are some four white varieties I guess. It was more the full sunlight that did bring out its full white color on my photos. With cloudy weahter the blossoms looked kind of greenish instead of white. But it sure is gorgeous and we will enjoy it.
Hugs and love back from Georgia/USA,
Mariette

Mariette

Dearest Laura,
DeleteNot quite as exotic looking as on your post's picture however. But we try what we can in our climate.
Happy weekend to you!
Mariette
Liebe Anke,

Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYou did buy a white Bougein Villea at the gift shop the entire plant pot on your patio.
You has full sunshine with beautiful climate.
We having another raining day,
Hugs and Lots of Love!
Michiko
Dearest Michiko,
DeleteYes, sunshine we have but it is so hot and humid... A shower feels great after having been on the balcony or outside. Even if you make photos, you are soaking wet without actually working.
Try to think positive on your rainy days, hope it is not too dark...
Hugs and love and happy weekend!
Mariette
One of my favorite plants. However, never had a white one. All are pink. It is hot and dry in Texas.
ReplyDeleteDearest LV,
DeleteIt is a favorite plant and we were delighted for finding this white variety.
We too need some rain; same hot and dry weather for over a week now...
Hugs,
Mariette
I love any white flowers. Your Bougainvillea is lovely.
ReplyDeleteDearest Kay,
DeleteWhite is also our favorite color period.
Happy weekend to you and sending you hugs,

Hi Mariette, your White Bougainvillea is very beautiful! I like your pot, too. Such lovely color and design!
ReplyDeleteThe blossoms in white are amazing. And looks happy in sunshine :-)
Have a wonderful weekend xoxo
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteIt is a treasure and the pot is a lovely one too. Most come from sales and if there is a little damage to them, some paint will do the job!
Happy weekend to you as well; guess we got plenty of sunshine in Georgia.
Hugs,
Mariette
Very nice
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteA true gem we found.

Mariette
Dear Mariette,i used to have a White Bougainvillea in my yard!
ReplyDeleteBut winter frost, dry all the plant! It sure looks great in your garden!
Have a happy Sunday!
Dimi...
Dearest Dimi,
DeleteOh such frost does leave a path of destruction in our gardens... It is indeed the drying wind that kills plants. Happy Sunday in Delft, The Netherlands!

Mariette
