{Kauai Blue & White Torenia}

If you love to have an ever-blooming container plant for next summer, you should look for this Kauai Blue & White Torenia.
It seems to be family of the snapdragon...
Lovely foliage too.
These photos are from August 7...
This photo is from July 4, where it still was looking at its very best!
A very loyal bloomer and quite tolerant to heat.

  3. Wow what a unique looking flower! And such beautiful white/blue colors.
Sounds like a strong flower tolerant to heat even though it looks kind of fragil!

    1. Dearest Tamago,
It was a surprising flower indeed. We all know that one should not underestimate the little things in life as they can show us often to be very strong and tough. This plant sure managed to impress us. In full sunshine, all day and still looking pretty and blooming ongoing.
      A must-have for 2015 as well.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  5. Hoi lieve Mariette,

Immer etwas!
Ganz liebe Grüsse für eine neue Woche!

  17. You always have the most beautiful flowers surrounding you, Mariette. You inspire me to come up with something other than the ones I always choose year after year - gardenias in summer, mums and pansies in fall. xo

    1. Dearest Stacy,
Thank you and at the local Home Depot one can find surprising gems at times. This is for sure a repeat for 2015.
Gardenias we have year round and we love them; they belong to the South!
Pansies are another favorite for winter time, we always have them, the white ones.
But Mums revoke a funny feeling as in The Netherlands they were mainly used to be put out on the graveside in November... so when I first received Mums here in the USA in 1984, I had a funny feeling... Still not quite used to them.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
