{My Crocheted Potholders with Rose}

Just would like to show you, my previous crocheted, potholders with ROSE.
We have been lucky for having been taught knitting and crocheting at elementary school, back in The Netherlands!
Done in white with green, red and yellow edging in a crab stitch (kreeftensteek in Dutch)
These are not new but have known many years of duty!

Have you crocheted some potholders as well?

  1. Such pretty potholders!! I like them. The color of the combination is perfectly pretty. Look still new even they have been used for many years!
    Have a good weekend, Mariette.

  4. Dearest Mariette; Oh, Lovely potholders with rose♡♡♡ Great color coordination, love the yellow edging♬♬♬ And so surprised and wished we had knitting and crocheting classes, how wonderful to be able to learn at school.
Hope you are having wonderful weekend and getting cooler.

  8. Dearest Mariette,
What memories you bring back! Potholders were the first things I made when my grandmother was teaching me to knit and crochet. I think I was about ten, I do know that by the time we were learning how to knit in junior high school home economics, I was allowed to make a sweater because I was so far ahead of everyone in the class.
Have a lovely long week end..............*s*

  10. Good Afternoon Mariette, Your potholders are so lovely and they put me in mind of springtime. I did not learn to crochet at school, but when I was in my 20's a friend taught me. I made many granny squares and turned them into blankets and in the 1970's I crocheted a poncho as they were so fashionable. I think I need to find my crochet hooks and start crocheting again.... that would be fun.
    Enjoy your weekend.
    Best Wishes as always.

  12. Your potholders are beautiful. I love the pretty design very much. I did learn crocheting and knitting in elementary school, but didn't create anything outside the class, except for one scarf. I have no idea how you can create such lovely roses! They must brighten your kitchen :-)

  14. Drie maal raden wat mijn lievelings les was ....

  15. I also learned knitting and crochet in school, back in the old days...
I have similar potholders but I no longer use them, I have them in a box with other crocheted doilies.

  18. Dear Mariette, they are very pretty. I do not know knitting and crocheting, but my mum does, and has made so many beautiful things, and it means a lot when you know how much time they have made into it:-) Hugs

  19. My mommy LOVES crocheted work. She never was able to get the hang of crocheting or knitting so whatever her grandparents gave her is still in use. She just always did complicated embroidering.
