A young and handsome Uncle Bo Whaley, when he was in the army...
From 1954 till 1974 he worked as an F.B.I. Agent and lived all over the U.S.A.
He later became a columnist and writer and published a lot of books, we do have 11 of them!
Several with a personal message...
On October 7, 1988 shortly before we moved to Pennsylvania, Uncle Bo came to dinner at our home, as a farewell and he gave us the special Friendship Poem

Dearest Jim,
DeleteThank you and so often we miss Uncle Bo. He could 'read' a person like no other and his writing was excellent too! Miss his advice...
Hugs,
Mariette
What a nice tribute to a life well lived. I feel sure you treasure having those books..
ReplyDeleteI should have known that you have no trouble staying busy. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for all of us.
Dearest Janey,
DeleteYes, we sure do and feel proud and humbled for having met him.
We never get bored indeed... wish only we had more time!

Mariette
A beautiful memory.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteThank you!
Hugs,
Mariette
How lovely to have his books! My goodness, he WAS handsome, wasn't he? And he would have needed to read people well, having been in the FBI. Goodness! I have interesting family members, some more so than others (ha!), but as far as I know, no one quite that interesting!
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteYes, those books are treasures and also reveal so well who he was, his way of thinking and handling people. He sure was handsome! For a good FBI agent it no doubt served him well, being able to read people. He could see through things easily.
Hugs,
Mariette
Se ve bien parecido y el poema es precioso. No te ha podido dejar mejor regalo que ese poema, en el que vuelca sus sentimientos.

Dearest Victor,
DeleteThank you and guess, during those 15 years he's been helping me 'write'... Souls never die and we remain close forever and also can support one another.

That’s a great photo of uncle Bo Whaley. He was very handsome indeed. And a sweet photo of him and you together. It’s so special he gifted you with friendship poem. Happy birthday in heaven to him :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Tamago,
DeleteHis daughter had this photo of him that I'd never seen before. Neither had she seen the photo of Uncle Bo with me... May all of us be remembered equally, fifteen years after passing!
The poem is very special indeed and remains a treasure to us.
Hugs,
Mariette
