About Me

Here I would love to share with you our travels and adventures as international mushroom consultants. MEMOIRS about husband Pieter Vedder, who was a SCIENTIFIC PIONEER in Commercial Mushroom Cultivation Education. His practical handbook is in 9 languages and is called the MUSHROOM BIBLE: https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2020/08/modern-mushroom-growing-2020-harvesting.html

YES, we also DID PLAY!

For those of you that might think we always were working or flying from A to B, we actually DID PLAY too!

Both of us LOVED to play tennis as it is an active sport!

Pieter on the court...
And me...
With Gloria one of our tennis teachers in the back...

But we have had to drop this as our schedule was always such that we could not continue with scheduling classes or whatsoever...

But at least we ENJOYED it!

Maybe next life...?!

  1. I was never any good at tennis. The racquet was too small.

    God bless.

That is a good one; great explanation for not being good at tennis...

  2. Hello Mariette, As they say, a healthy mind in a healthy body. My exercise these days is mostly from walking, but I prefer to do it late at night (social distancing) and I also have to avoid Taiwan's frequent rainy days.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Let's hope that the balance between healthy mind and healthy body has been prolonged by being active.
It will be hard in such an overpopulated area to keep social distance. But walking is good, also to enhance a good night sleep.
Yes, we know from Indonesia how those frequent rainy days interfere with your plans...
      Hugs,

Well, there are just not enough hours in a day, or days in a month for doing it ALL and very hard doing so when traveling globally.

    1. Querida Antónia,
Por mucho que nos encantó hacer esto, nuestra vida ha sido bastante activa todo el camino... simplemente no hay tiempo suficiente para hacerlo todo y especialmente combinado con viajes globales.
      Abrazos,

Thank you, it is quite something to look back at a bygone era of our life. Grateful for having this...
We wanted to make time for it but with our international consulting this was impossible.

  9. It's great you got to enjoy playing tennis out of your busy schedule. I played tennis when I was a teenager as a part of school activities but I was never good. Might enjoy more if I play now :-) It's wonderful you have this video! Fond memories in action!

Both of us enjoyed playing so much but later we could not keep it going.
This video is a sure treasure as it is the only one...
At least you did play as a teen and you might indeed enjoy it more now.

  10. How fun that you have this to watch. I played on a tennis league years ago and more recently golf, although we only played nine wholes and then all went to lunch. You certainly looked good in your cute tennis clothes.

I Am So Thankful That This Video Resurfaced - What A Gem - I Loved Playing Tennis And Was Completely Useless Out There - Played In A Mixed Doubles League For Years And Them Ladies Delightedly Giggled When I Stepped On The Court - I Was A Pretty Good Volley Striker But Couldn't Serve, Couldn't Remember Who's Serve It Was, And Overall Couldn't Really Play - But I Looked Good And Had A Ball - Again, Fantastic Old Home Movie There - Well Done

    Cheers
