You can see the tables and chairs where we later enjoyed a very light meal.
This hotel is only 2 stories high, as they call it; a horizontal complex.
There are no less than four pools on this very green and stretched out property of 7 acres with attractive gardens and tennis courts.
Our gracious hosts for Sunday, Ricardo the mushroom farm manager and his wife Olivia took us first to a 10:00 o'clock performance of the historical ballet of Guadalajara.
Lots of color and temperament!
Around noon, we were back again, outside in the sunshine and strolled a little over a market with everything rustic.
Next we enjoyed an authentic Mexican lunch; complete with Mariachis!
We returned back to our hotel by 17:00 and loved just to relax a little while on a chaise lounge.
We opted for a very light meal on the patio after our boss had flown in by 21:00 and all three of us enjoyed eating together.
The end of a perfect Sunday that started relaxed at 8:00 and let us wear our shorts... together with my Escada strawberry pieces.
Fond memories of mushroom friends and a great hotel where we stayed several times.

DeleteNo, it is not such hot weather! Guadalajara sits on a mountainous plateau in west central Mexico at 5,400 feet or 1,646 meters.
It is a very pleasant climate and there is a direct flight connection with all major airlines from the United States as people love going there!
Looking happy in such a climate and surroundings comes only natural.

That ficus tree is amazing! I think I'd have had to put my hands on it and "feel" its energy. :-) (I love huge trees, I always think of them as Elder Trees that will outlive me by many decades.)
ReplyDeleteI like the low-rise hotel; I'm not fond of high rise buildings of any sort, and certainly not because of the tragedy in Florida (though that reinforces my aversion/fear of them). It was a beautiful spot to stay, Mariette, and it seems all your hosts have been so gracious and kind.

DeleteOh, such a ficus tree would have numerous stories to tell of weddings done and other happy gatherings.
In Mexico they always deal with the earthquake possibilities, like in Italy where we were going to build our own home.
If being in any high rise building you certainly hope that there was no corruption during its construction period, for altering the safety measures for concrete and metal beams by using 'cheaper materials!
Our late Jewish friends from Wilmington, Delaware always wanted to live in such a high rise condo. At least 'she' insisted and he never gave in. Often illusions are being sold and this is the reality... at a very high price!
We worked at all six locations for the companies mushroom farms and yes, during our entire consulting period over those twelve years we have been treated gracious and kind. We in return gave all we have!
