May 23, 2022 is World Turtle Day!
The little guy seemed not afraid as it looked at Pieter...

On its way to our pond no doubt...

Il tuo Pieter parla anche con le tartarughe!
ReplyDeleteCara Olga,
DeleteTutte le nostre creature del giardino vengono chiamate e diamo loro anche dei nomi!
Abbracci,
Mariette
Turtles and tortoises are such interesting creatures. They can move home from one place to another without the need for a realtor estate agent.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteThey sure are and by moving with their shell, it proves also to be far less stressful as they can reach a very high age!
Hugs,
Mariette
They're such ancient creatures, it's no wonder that some North American indigenous peoples refer to the continent as Turtle Island. I find them fascinating!
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteYes, they are very ancient and their faces are indeed fascinating.
The North American indigenous people were so right about that!
Hugs,
Mariette
Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteIt is always special when you interact with garden critters!
Hugs,
Mariette
You brought back a wonderful childhood memory ... we had a turtle we named Myrtle! She was wonderful and lived a long, long time in her turtle bowl.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteWhat a special childhood memory for you and I love her name; Myrtle!
Hugs,
Mariette
No siente miedo alguno y por eso no ha puesto ninguna resistencia, cuando la ha cogido en su mano.

Querida Antónia,
Delete¡A menudo los animales sienten eso y confían en su sexto sentido! Maravillosa experiencia.
Abrazos,
Mariette
Seems like he saw a friendly face..
ReplyDeleteDearest Janey,
DeleteHe/she sure did!
Hugs,
Mariette
I remember when I was down in Long Beach Ca, I saw a gal, all dressed up, walking her tortoise on a leash. It was a funny thing to see. We have a place in town called Turtle Bay and there are turtles all over the place.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debby,
DeleteThat sure must have been a funny sight but bet the turtle felt like being in heaven.
As Kim here above mentioned that the indigenous people used to call our continent Turtle Island. We have plenty of turtle residents!
Hugs,
Mariette
I had a turtle when I was a kid, but it disappeared.
