Here I would love to share with you our travels and adventures as international mushroom consultants. MEMOIRS about husband Pieter Vedder, who was a SCIENTIFIC PIONEER in Commercial Mushroom Cultivation Education. His practical handbook is in 9 languages and is called the MUSHROOM BIBLE: https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2020/08/modern-mushroom-growing-2020-harvesting.html
August was a rather WET month with too much rain...
Good for the yard and the farmers — but not good for riding our bikes!
At least for planning a longer route that is.
NO—there is no black spot between my eyes... just shade.
That is a happy WeFie from August 28.
August 28 it was 32°C and not raining after a long time...
Pieter at a sturdy built bridge over big creek.
We stop for a sip of water and a brief break—at 93.5 you can't go on and on!
The weather on September 18 was again a lovely 31°C
Me at the same bridge for a sip of water... not from the creek but from the bottle 😉
Contrary to Limburg/The Netherlands where you have safe bike lanes AND lots of stops with a bench and often a coffee shop nearby.
We paid Kyle Wayne Dinkheller a visit at his memorial in Dudley, close to Interstate 16, where he got killed after he'd stopped some guy that was speeding over 90 miles an hour.
Kyle left his expectant wife and 22 month old daughter behind...
Such a tragedy in January 1998 and we will never forget that!
Also how the community came together in supporting his family.
Resting on the cross tire as there are no benches.
On September 21, we spotted a baby donkey on the way over but as we came back it hid in the shade...
Cute as can be!
On sunny September 25, we rode in 31°C
Spunky girl greeted us on the driveway, where they love to chill out...
During the devastating hurricane Ian, even our area was affected by the weather change.
Only 18°C on September 29
Another happy WeFie from October 6.
Yes, a blissful relationship on wheels...
Our lovely Indian Summer was back with 28°C
Lovely stretched out fields in the hilly area on October 6.
On October 9, we rolled again and here I'm standing on the side of an overpass over Interstate 16.
October 9, it sure was lovely weather at 25°C
After squatting down on the cross tires during our previous ride—we spotted these seats for taking our break.
Easier for getting up at our age 😉
Happy me on said bench in Dudley, almost having devoured my rice cake...
Just as I was about to leave, I spotted this plaque:

Thank you so very much!
Do you find rest areas in your area when biking or walking?
We had a delicious breakfast at Jenny Lake Lodge Dining Room, forgot to make any photos.
Photo is taken after breakfast, right outside of the Jenny Lake Lodge Dining Room
The Grand Tetons are the youngest mountain ranges in the Rocky Mountain chain!
The Grand Teton National Park got established 2 months before my Pieter got born...
Both are treasures!
Grand Tetons 13,770 ft or 4,197 m.
And LOOK at the weather we were enjoying... 😏
Even though you see that nights are cool up in the mountains!
Only 7°C or 44°F and when we both walked over to the Dining Room it was 16°C or 61°F
It would be 28°C or 82°F today!
From the dining room in the main cabin at Jenny Lake Lodge we walked back to our log cabin and enjoyed these purple lupine wildflowers.
And more lovely wildflowers; don't know what these are called... If anyone knows; please leave a comment—thanks in advance!
We went to the next town, in Moose, WY for gassing up at Phillips 66 our car for tomorrow's drive.
Only a 20 minute drive or 12.7 miles, 20.5 km.
Did stop at this pullout, for reading the board's info and for capturing the above video.
The Cathedral Group as it is called.
Also we had to move out from our Alpine Aster Freestanding Cabin into the Sunflower Parlor SuiteCabin, as there were no 2 consecutive nights in either one of them...
Still feel lucky for having managed to book this, as they accept reservations one year ahead of time!
That means that most cabins are booked very early on.
They have horses and bikes... See bottom: to stables and where the x is placed, the bikes are.
Around 13:30 in our new Parlor Suite Cabin.
All luxuries were there, including a mini fridge.
These log cabins are very rustic looking and have wooden floors as well.
It was fun for seeing our car parked right behind the headboard of our King–size bed...
Those quilts are handmade and their down pillows, down duvet and soft all cotton bed linens are superb.
We could have 'vacationed' there for a week or more—BUT time was another issue, with our kitties wanting us home.
Pieter did test the bed right away and had a very good nap–time!
Jenny Lake Lodge, located at the foot of the Tetons. What looks like a big collection of Old West cabins on the outside is a AAA four–diamond resort on the inside, offering full gourmet breakfasts, nightly five–course meals...
Around 15:50 we had found us some bikes for biking together.
No electra bikes and just simple one speed bikes with back–pedal brakes...
Sure had to get used to that first!
Our surroundings looked like a DREAM
Around 16:10 at Jenny Lake
Jenny was the Shoshone Indian wife of Richard "Beaver Dick" Leigh, a trapper who served as guide for the 1872 Hayden Expedition (the geological survey).
Biker Pieter J.C. Vedder posing in front of Jenny Lake
The wife of Pieter J.C. Vedder overlooking Jenny Lake...
We biked until we reached the Teton Park Road and then turned back onto Jenny Lake Road.
What a majestic view (NOT me...😉).
WISH we could have rolled around here more extensive and on our own electra bikes!
Spotted some ripe huckleberries...
Snapdragon
The different log cabins with their names for finding the way home...
SUNFLOWER is ours.
Sunflower and our Infiniti QX50 is parked right behind our bedroom.
Our freestanding Parlor Suite Cabin.
Left window is one of three windows in our bedroom and to the right is the living room with also three windows on each side.
Ro the right of the entrance door is again a sign with Sunflower on.
