{11 Vintage French Christofle Luc Lanel 'Ondulation' Knife Rests}

From France I bring you these vintage Christofle knife rests in a pleated pattern, as a set of eleven. No box available this time but they are in very good condition, considering their age. This is designed by Luc Lanel in the 1930s and is called 'Ondulation'. Look at: Christie's LUC LANEL (1893-1965) at Luc Lanel's 'Ondulation' champagne coolers with an ice pail, sold at Christie's. The place mat is Le Jacquard Français in a damask rose pattern. The flatware is Gero Zilmeta 528 Menuet and the china is English Rose from Royal Doulton. ← just click the hyperlinks.

On page 73 and 74 of the book Christofle (Memoire) by David Rosenberg (Hardcover - Jun 15, 2006) you can read the following information:
1860: In France a law is passed requiring hallmarks for pieces of silver plate.
1883: Christofle outfits the Orient Express.
1935: Christofle creates a 45,000 piece service for te Normandie ocean liner. On page 77 you see the photo description about The Normandie ocean liner with mention of Transat champagne bucket, first class section of the Normandie, Luc Lanel for Christofle, 1933.

Indeed, Christofle is a symbol of luxury and elegance...

{Our Clematis Armandii - Fragrant Blooms on Evergreen Vine}

• We used to have two beautiful Clematis Armandii vines but we lost the biggest one... Will show you later a photo of it. Too bad that those things do happen as this is a very hard to cultivate vine, Clematis Armandii: Wayside Gardens also has Clematis 'Apple Blossom'. Ours came from the Durio Nursery years ago and Pieter has managed to have some cuttings; hope they will survive! It is a spectacular evergreen vine with fragrant blooms in early spring!

• This photo is taken on March 10.

• This beauty we lost... Photo is from April 2, 2010... There is some chocolate vine 'Akebia quinata' growing into it.

• This one is younger, grown from our own cuttings too and it is on the fence between our neighbors and us.

• Still lots of buds to open up.

• Again, we can enjoy these blooms from our bay window view.

• Only one day later but now with full sun and blue sky.

• Photo taken from our neighbor's property towards our home and around noon.

• Above you can see the blossoms of the Red bud tree 'Cercis Canadensis' that is blooming now.

{Our 2 Inseparable Feline Siblings SACHA & BANDIDO}

These photos I just have to share with you. Brother and sister Bandido (Dido) and Sacha are so crazy about each other that they embrace one other while sleeping! Humans could learn a lot from them. They kiss and cuddle each other like they're going to eat one another alive...

Bandido (r) has the softest 'silky' fur we ever felt on any feline. His 'Mamita' was like that too. You can read her story: {Telling YOU the Tale of our 4 Feline Girls}. Those two are really inseparable since birth.

They sleep always with a big smile on their faces...

A bundle of bliss...
