Here I would love to share with you our travels and adventures as international mushroom consultants. MEMOIRS about husband Pieter Vedder, who was a SCIENTIFIC PIONEER in Commercial Mushroom Cultivation Education. His practical handbook is in 9 languages and is called the MUSHROOM BIBLE: https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2020/08/modern-mushroom-growing-2020-harvesting.html
Did any of you know about this story of civic heroism? We were in Germany on the day of 9/11 this year. This video got uploaded on September 7: BOATLIFT, An Untold Tale of 9/11 Resilience. I feel that I have to share, as the media never did bring this out. Tom Hanks narrates the epic story of the 9/11 boatlift that evacuated half a million people from the stricken piers and seawalls of Lower Manhattan. This evacuation in only 9 hours, was one of the largest and fastest in history- far fewer (300,000) were evacuated from Dunkirk, France during WWII.

In several of my previous blogs I've mentioned the upscale 925/000 silver charms from Giovanni Raspini, Italy. A Silver Master in the heart of Tuscany making elegant jewelry just like Tiffany & Co. Their charms come in a signature box with booklet and make a very elegant gift presentation. Be it for a silver alphabet angel, a beautiful angel charm, a safety pin or key ring. Have a look at the related articles below:
Pieter did dig up the bulbs of our {Heavenly Hippeastrum Fragrantissimum} (just click on this hyperlink to go to the previous blog) as they were struggling in the wood garden between the competing roots of trees.
There is always competition for food and the strongest usually wins!
It is a pity that Pieter did not take any photos of the bulbs before planting them in containers again.
But I like to show you their blooms for this year. Glad we kept them alive and well. Of course due to giving water with the hose. Pieter, being the handy man he is, has put a pump inside the pond and that runs with a switch of the button in the green house. Water at hand for some needy plants and trees. Not for all though...
