After our dinner the previous night and the 3 hour ride in the bus back to the Congress Center in Budapest we had to rise early again at 6:30 because we would depart by bus at 8:00.
We went to MARTONVÁSÁR to the BEETHOVEN MUSEUM

What an interesting life you have. Being able to see and enjoy so much of the world. My late husband and I were able to travel a lot of places overseas in our young days. Still enjoy the memories.
ReplyDeleteDearest LV.,
DeleteMind you, this was not travel persé but attending Conferences and other work related trips.
But meanwhile we enjoyed seeing every bit of culture we got offered!
Happy you too cherish some fond memories of you and your dear husband traveling overseas!
That's what life is all about, memories become the cushion for old age...
Hugs,
Mariette

I'm a big fan of Beethoven's music. I gotta visit that museum! That statue is quite eye-catching :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Tamago,
DeleteHaha, nobody will overlook that size of a statue!
It is a wonderful Beethoven museum and a piece of history; we both love his music too.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette - all of the statues and images I have ever seen always show Beethoven looking so dark and brooding, but he had so much to contend with going deaf at such a young age - I imagine that is the worse affliction that could possibly affect a composer. It is wonderful that he actually left us all with such a wonderful body of work that continues to delight so many of us today.
ReplyDeleteThe Agricultural Research Institute looks as if it was in a delightful setting.
Dearest Rosemary,
DeleteThat indeed must be the very worse, getting deaf as such a genius of a composer like Beethoven was! He did not live in vain and he let the world inherit numerous masterpieces from his hands.
Yes, the Agricultural Research Institute was in a perfect place.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi Mariette, I'm having Safari problems. When I reply to comments on my blog, it doesn't publish. I'm signed in, but the blog doesn't recognize that I'm signed in for commenting, and I have yet to solve the issue. Here too, I'm having trouble commenting as myself on Safari. So bear with me. Meanwhile, I'm on a different browser.
ReplyDeleteBeethoven's deafness coupled with his music talent is indeed fascinating: http://www.lvbeethoven.com/Bio/BiographyDeafness.html.
Dearest Debra,
DeleteYes, it must have been very devastating for him to get all his hearing problems en losing most of it and finally all...
For a long time Safari has not allowed me to comment. They are kind of ignoring blogger completely.
Hugs,
Mariette
Off late, I become very irregular in blogsphere, but after reading your comment I'm came here to reply. I yet to read all your posts. I'll comment on them after reading. I already know that you have a great experience in India, as you travelled in India much more than me. You can really understand how those roads are. Aren't they give goosebumps every now and then? Long back I had almost similar experience in Lonavla, near Mumbai. Those days I didn't even know I can write travelogues. Those days I was busy with career. Anyway, I love the comment you wrote.
ReplyDeleteI alway love your descriptive comments. Loads of love and hugs.
Krishna
Dearest Krishna,
DeleteThank you very much and yes, both of us know about those treacherous roads in the mountains. For sure we've always had a good Guardian Angel and on Heavy Duty!
Thanks for your visit.
Hugs,
Mariette
Your Pic with Beethoven that amazing genius is wonderful ! I'd love to go visit it. Hope on a trip to Europe Son in Law Sergio could take us all.
ReplyDeleteYou had an amazing life dear friend, I so admire it very much and it is what makes you such an open and aware human being, without been a blind fan to your believes.
I'd love to ask you for a fav, if I can. I'm not the "computed Savviest of them all" and so I've had enough of so many fake anonymous comments I get from all over my posts. I'm tired, so if you have a link I can go to in order to do what I must so to not receive them by the tens everyday.
Thank you for all you can.
Have a terrific weekend.
Fabby
Dearest Fabby,
DeleteYou yourself have traveled extensively and so did we and not as a tourist but for work which makes all the difference. We really interacted with the people and exchanged ideas and feelings.
As for your request, hope you did find it yesterday with the link to my post for changing settings.
Hugs,
Mariette
Wow, what a statue. I have now put on Beethoven in my Bose, and now listening to Symphony no. 7 - Presto.
ReplyDeleteSo many plants are poisonous. Animals are pretty smart about them and seem to know it.
Happy Week end to you
Betsy
Dearest Betsy,
DeleteLudwig Van Beethoven's music is heavenly and never loses its charm!
