July 14 was French Bastille Day and due to that Yves Delorme Outlet was offering a 20% off...
That was the perfect time for investing in our new Carribbean Light Comforter, the lightest down duvet they offer! We had already the Mediterranean but that was still too heavy for our summers here in the South.
Happy with the purchase and even if they did not have it at their store, they offered free shipping as part of the Bastille Day Offer.
So we went to our Hyatt Place Hotel and had a lovely dinner at 201 Seafood Restaurant which is within walking distance.
Happily eating my Tuna Steak with Carrot-ginger purée, seasoned red rice, cucumbers and carrots!
A rather oriental flavor.
Forgot to take a photo so I'd already eaten a bite...
Pieter enjoying his Seafood Risotto
Fresh scallops, shrimp, mussels, tossed with vegetables and risotto dancing in a hot wok with a saffron sauce, a pepper aroma and a touch of parmesan cheese...
You sure don't mind walking a little after such a meal!
French Bastille Sale was a good one for us!
Our New Queen: Caribbean Light Down Comforter from Yves Delorme and probably the down came from Eastern Europe...

They shipped it out FREE and it arrived with nice card enclosed.
You bet, we slept like roses under them already!
The weather forecast was excellent!
On the 15th of July, it was just one centigrade cooler than in Dublin... where it was 37ºC or 98.6ºF
We went biking on Sea Pines Resort Bike Trail...
Here we have our break with some chocolate dessert and mandarins; nice combination!
There are benches and you almost constantly bike in the shade under a canopy of trees.
I did walk to the beach...
This is along the bike trail a Great blue heron fishing for his noon snack!
It feels so lovely to be in nature!
A very lovely route we biked!
It was exactly 15 km so not too much... or 9.3 miles.
Back to our Hyatt Place and you can see our bikes on the bike rack, parked opposite the hotel's shuttle bus.
Lazy afternoons at the pool and swimming. Then a shower and our walk to 201 Seafood Restaurant again and next day we drove home after a lazy morning at the pool...
It is great for having this within 1 hour and 45 minutes driving distance and that is also where we depart for our flights, from Hilton Head/Savannah Airport - so convenient!
Thank you for your visit and comment.

I love the comforter. It looks so cozy!
ReplyDeleteDearest Krishna,
DeleteOh, this super light down comforter makes you sleep like a dream!
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, I agree with you how great it is to be in nature and observe its wonders. But I prefer to do it in less roasting temperatures! Those relatively simple pleasures--a walk in the park, some good food, and a comfortable rest, can be so totally satisfying.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteNo, when biking under a canopy of trees, those temperatures don't feel like roasting!
Also the movement of you biking, creates a nice wind...
Both of us can handle far better warm weather than cold days; we loved living in tropical Indonesia.
Indeed, simple pleasures like walking or biking and good food are very satisfying.
Hugs,
Mariette
Buona giornata
ReplyDeleteCarol Giancarlo,
DeleteGrazie per il tuo saluto.
Un abbraccio,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteyou did a lovely biketour! Thank you for wonderful pictures! But I would not do any biking in 37° hot weather ...For biking I prefer cooler temperatures ;O)
Wishing you a happy week!
Love and hugs, Claudia xo
Liebe Claudia,
DeleteYes, that was indeed a lovely one and also the time after the biking.
It does not bother us at all and especially near the coast with a soft sea breeze it feels perfect as we also bike in the shade of trees!
Hugs,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,

Nice comforter. Your meal looks delicious and healthy......those or pretty bowls too.
ReplyDeleteDearest Janey,
DeleteYes, the comforter is so perfect for mid-summer days.
The meal is a healthy choice and 201 Seafood Restaurant always serves in these piping hot bowls!
Hugs,
Mariette
Looks like a nice get away. I have always liked to shop Yeves Delorme.
ReplyDeleteDearest Sarah,
DeleteIt was such a perfect combination of everything.
Yes, I bet you love all things French and we have also lots of their Le Jacquard Français table linens.
Hugs,
Mariette
OH that COMFORTER!!!!!!! I LOVE it. And your dinner looks luscious too!
ReplyDeleteDearest Katie Isabella,
DeleteOh sure you love that COMFORTER; so do our kitties... they love to snuggle on our bed.
Dinner was really excellent as always there.
Hugs,
Mariette
Wonderful dinner, love tuna steak and risotto too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the new comforter.
Dearest Sami,
DeleteIt was perfect food after a fun filled and active day.
You bet we have enjoyed this super light down addition; just in time for summer.
Hugs,
Mariette
Sounds like a wonderful time. And your dinners look delicious. Tell Pieter I like that "tie" he's wearing! ;) xo Deborah
ReplyDeleteDearest Deborah,
DeleteHaha, that 'tie' has received numerous compliments and I wish we had bought several of those at the Outlet of Ben Silver Charleston!
Hugs,
Mariette
Yummy
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
Dearest R's Rue,
DeleteYes, it truly was yummy and we both felt like we earned it by being active.
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh my goodness, I wish I could eat that meal. Love spicy food! You bike path is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debbie,
DeleteGuess you would indulge in it as well!
First the work out on the bike path and then the reward; perfect days.
Hugs,
Mariette
Good looking lunch! I really like Pieter's tee with the tie. Steve has one similar. We need to get bikes here. The best exercise I believe.
ReplyDeleteDearest Betsy,
DeleteYes, that dinner was delicious and we both did work for it!
Haha, we found that tee with the tie at the Ben Silver Outlet on Hilton Head Island... WISH I'd snatched up more as it is really fun.
Guess you are even in a reasonably flat area so you actually could bike.
It is such a healthy exercise and you spare your knees.
Pieter got advised by his orthopedic surgeon to bike instead of walking in order to not put pressure and weight on his knees but removing the fluids. Works perfect, he's never had those pains back.
Hugs,
Mariette
It looks like a lovely restaurant. Such yummy looking dinner in big lovely bowls :-) Walk after that must have been very pleasant!
ReplyDeleteYou and your husband Pieter are so active. I see you enjoyed riding bike in a beautiful nature. Chocolate and mandarin make nice combination indeed and also a great snack :-)
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteYes, the big bowls are kind of closed up in the back and guess they keep the food longer warm as well.
It was just a short walk back to hotel but it was very pleasant after such a meal.
We try hard for staying active, not always easy for making time for it but for both our health conditions it is an absolute MUST.
Love the combination of chocolate with orange or mandarin and it was a healthy home baked snack.
Hugs,
Mariette
Mariette, what beautiful photos! I especially love the first heron photo. And I *love* Pieter's shirt with the tie!
ReplyDeleteDearest Jean,
DeleteThank you, those Great blue herons were a pleasant surprise to find being active right beside us!
Pieter's shirt with the 'windy' tie on is a big hit.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette - there is nothing better than being out in the countryside enjoying the fresh air in the sunshine, and then sitting down to a delicious meal at the end of the day, especially one that you don't have to prepare yourself.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased to see that Pieter took the time to dress properly for his evening meal and wore tie!!!
Dearest Rosemary,
DeleteWell, even better was for being out in the countryside but still sheltered from the sun, under the trees!
Such a meal is a perfect reward after all your exercise on the bike and in the pool.
No preparation and no dishes having to put away, it is nice.
Didn't he dress semi-formal though? You gotta love Ben Silver for having add that to their classic line of clothes!
Hugs,
Mariette
Mariette piękna wycieczka rowerowa tylko pozazdrościć. Jedzonko tak apetycznie wygląda. Dziękuję za odwiedziny. Mamy dużo do zdobycia szczytów górskich. Wykorzystujemy chodzenie jak mamy wolna niedzielę z grupą znajomych. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
ReplyDeleteDrodzy Malgorzata,
Liefs,
Mariette
